The tax system in Nestor, officially known as the Land Value Tax System of Nestor, is a historically significant mechanism that plays a crucial role in the nation’s economy and governance. Introduced in the year 7471 RH as part of a broader series of political reforms, the tax system was designed to balance the interests of the ruling lords, the monarchy, and the growing demands for democratic governance. | |||

The Nestoric Lordship (Nestor Herdom) is a nation state on the island of Nestor, part of the Anarian continent. The island is located in north Settant sea and it consists of two major islands, Nestor Major and Nestor Minor. The nation consists of 13 lords with the a preferably king but the nation got its first queen in 7688 as the head of state.
The nation has an united parliament where for each 60 thousand people, there is one seat in parliament. The nation is known to have a capitalistic economic system that insists on constant competition to improve. The nation is known for its military culture, high quality manufacturing and their traditional values.
Etymology
The name of the nation originates from the post-warring lords' era, a time that followed the dominance of the Erinic Empire, which had unified the region before the era of the warring lords. In the native language, Erecund was originally known as Erincund, which had been incorporated into the Erinic Empire.
After the fall of the Erinic Empire, each lord ruled over their respective regions, and they named their states after these regions. It was during this time that the kingdom of Giondo emerged, uniting the various lords. As the kingdom began trading with Helreich, the people of Helreich were surprised to find that most inhabitants of the nation lived in castles. Consequently, they referred to the people of the kingdom as the “people of the castle.”
As many lords disliked the idea of the kingdom being named after one of the states, they started using the native translation of “people of the castle.” In the native language, “castle” translates to “nest,” and adding the suffix “-or” indicates “people of.” This led to the creation of the name “Nestor.”
However, the lords wanted to emphasize the unique factor of the nation, symbolized by their lordship. In the native language, “lordship” translates to “Herdom.” Thus, the combination of “Nestor” and “Herdom” gave rise to the modern name of Nestoric Herdom, meaning “People of the Castled Lordship.”
By using these names, the nation sought to honor its history and heritage, representing the amalgamation of its past as well as the distinct qualities of its united people and their lordship.
History
- Main article: History of Nestor
Pre-historic Era (0 - 3603 RH)
The island of Nester Mayor was inhabited by a people referred to as the Nestalics, though their true tribal name is lost due to the absence of written records. Initially nomadic hunters, the Nestalics were introduced to agriculture and mainland Anarian technologies, which gradually advanced their society. By 2278 RH, the first feudal kingdoms—Jung, Erapo, and Giondo—were recorded. The earliest continuous written records, dating to 3578 RH, mention additional kingdoms like Centil, Cultar, Radir, Ravnar, and Remonir.
In 3603 RH, a war erupted between the kingdoms of Erapo and Ravnar. The conflict culminated in the fall of Ravnar after the decisive battles of Eran and Savol (3612-3617 RH). King Alak of Ravnar resisted with brutal tactics, while King Garises III of Erapo ultimately prevailed, enslaving Ravnar's population and establishing a puppet regime under his son.
Lord History (3603 - 4139 RH)
In 3632 RH, traders from Anaria brought the Erecund religion to the Kingdom of Erapo, which was soon adopted by King Aron vil Era, transforming Erapo into the Erinic Empire. He aimed to unite all of Nestor under this new faith. This led to significant religious and political upheaval, including the founding of Astidil by refugees opposed to the Erecund faith in 3672 RH, and the creation of the Muncor Alliance by the Munc tribes to resist the Cultaric Empire's invasions in 3763 RH.
The Erinic Empire’s aggressive expansion continued, with its invasion of Remonir in 3753 RH, forcing the kingdom to convert to Erecund. In 3769 RH, the Erinic Empire conquered Giondo, a kingdom that also converted, though its populace faced religious repression. The Erinic Empire declared war on the Cultaric Empire and the Muncs in 3773 RH, leading to the fall of the Muncor Alliance and the forced conversion of its people by 3794 RH.
In subsequent years, the Erinic Empire expanded its influence further by conquering Centil in 3851 RH and exerting control over the Kingdom of Gragin. The Erinic Empire’s religious elite, dissatisfied with the Kingdom of Jung’s lax conversions, led an invasion in 3854 RH. This resulted in widespread purges and reforms aimed at maintaining stability across the empire. By 4033 RH, the suppression of religious diversity eased, and in 4098 RH, the Erinic Empire transitioned to a lord-based democracy, which further stabilized the realm.
Erinic Era (4239 - 5351 RH)

The Erinic Empire stabilized after centuries of turmoil, thanks to decentralization efforts that gave lords more autonomy, beginning with Baragozo IV of Giondo in 4139 RH. By 4216 RH, the empire was divided into 130 herdoms, including the elusive Heranica, hidden within the eroding Hivic Mountains. Expansion efforts continued, with Nester Minor and Spal Island annexed by 4233 RH, marking the start of the Erinic Golden Age (4219–4823 RH). This era saw prosperity until a devastating plague in 4824 RH, which decimated the population and triggered a crisis of faith.
Religious discontent grew, culminating in demands for religious freedom by 4829 RH, influenced by new religions from Anaria. Despite attempts to suppress these movements, the empire overreached when it engaged in costly religious wars alongside other Erecund nations (5001–5264 RH). Anarian forces eventually landed on Nestor Mayor in 5269 RH, further destabilizing the empire. In 5329 RH, the first lord defected, and by 5351 RH, all lords had abandoned the Erinic Empire. Although they remained faithful to the Erecund religion, the collapse of royal authority marked the end of the Erinic Empire, shaping Nestor's future trajectory.
Medieval Era (5351 - 7405 RH)
Following the fall of the Erinic Empire in 5351 RH, the island fragmented into nearly 500 regions, each ruled by a lord or religious leader. Power struggles ensued, and by 5354 RH, only 150 lords remained, each wielding roughly equal influence. Despite constant warfare and harsh societal norms, the population remained stable due to high birth rates and a rigid warrior culture that favored strong soldiers.
By 6691 RH, the lord of Giondo proposed a federated monarchy to unite the island and end the constant infighting. This idea was realized in 6809 RH when the Nestal Alliance, led by Bulgunzo I, reformed into the Nestoric Herdom. Under Bulgunzo I’s leadership, military reforms reduced death rates, and a less brutal warrior culture emerged. The Nestoric Herdom gradually expanded its influence over key regions by 7405 RH, facing its primary rival, the Domain of Narrac. At this point, only 15 herdoms remained on Nester Mayor, three on Nester Minor, and a separate nation formed on Spal Island.
Renaissance Era (7405 - 7496 RH)

With the dominance of the Nestoric Herdom, Nester Mayor experienced its first period of peace in centuries, allowing for necessary reforms. The industrial revolution began in 7443 RH in Ricar, in Rinnar, transforming the city into the industrial hub of the Herdom. By 7471 RH, economist Xar Mulca introduced the Land Value Tax System, which restructured the Nestorian tax system to be fairer, though lords retained significant tax-free lands. These developments laid the groundwork for future economic and social progress across the island.
Pan-Anarian War Era (7496 - 7552 RH)
The Pan-Anarian War Era began in 7496 RH with Wolgos raids on the Legar coast. By 7498 RH, they had established a foothold on Nester Mayor, prompting the formation of the United Herdom Alliance to protect the island. Despite initial setbacks, including the invasion of Tricor, the alliance's improved military strategies allowed them to expel the Wolgos by 7502 RH. Although the conflict was bloody, the Nestorians did not harbor deep animosity toward the Wolgos, viewing the invasion as a harsh lesson.
From 7502 to 7520 RH, the Nestorian nations focused on recovery and modernization, anticipating future threats. These fears materialized with the emergence of Häverism in Helreich.
The Lord of Ricar demanded the crown, but he was denied due to the rigged electoral system that had historically favored Giondo in 7518 RH. The Lord of Ricar was enraged but had no choice but to accept it. After a noble confrontation, the Lord of Giondo fled the scene, likely fearing the wrath of the newly empowered Ricarian king. Seeking safety, he found refuge in Hora, an island under Atregonan control with a large Nestorian population. This population had settled long before the war, farming Baruki bushes containing Nazel. Over the next few years, resentment brewed, and he sought revenge. To undermine the Ricarian king, he began spreading anti-Ricarian propaganda, a campaign that was later manipulated by the SOC to portray Nestor as a backward nation.
In 7521 RH, Häverists launched an invasion of Nester Mayor, quickly gaining ground.
During the war, many lords fled to other regions and nations. The lords of the Triple Kingdom (Tricora) fled the island on a small fisher’s boat to Zolatar, a part of Livaria. However, they never arrived on the island. Other lords fled to Crontol on Nester Minor, hoping that the lack of resources on the island would spare it from an invasion, but in 7522 RH, Crontol joined the United Herdom Alliance, dragging them into the war. The Lord of Nider fled to Hora where the lord of Giondo had fled to a few years prior. The lords who fled the nation were seen as cowards.
Despite these internal conflicts, the Ricarian king took personal command of a battalion to resist the Häverists. Though he ultimately failed, he was honored for his bravery. Meanwhile, the Lord of Giondo saw the king’s failures as an opportunity and reached out to the Häverists, offering to serve as a puppet ruler under their regime with the hope of eventually regaining independence. However, the Häverists, deeply opposed to nobility, rejected him outright. The Lord of Giondo, now accompanied by the Lord of Nider, remained in Hora, watching as their homeland fell deeper under Häverist control.
Although Ricar's factories initially supplied the Nestorian war effort, the destruction of Ricar’s industrial sector in 7525 RH crippled the economy, leading to the fall of the United Herdom Alliance by 7526 RH. The region came under the management of the Häverist-aligned Commonhold of Nestor.
By the time the Häverists purged the Ricarian king, capturing and executing him, the Lord of Giondo had a son of age who had grown up dreaming of liberating the Nestorian people. Recognizing the opportunity, the young noble convinced the Lord of Nider to join him in a bid for freedom. However, the older Lord of Giondo, still fearful of the Ricarian loyalists, refused to return. Instead, his son and the Lord of Nider returned to Nestor—not as lords or kings, but as traders. Gradually, they connected with the growing resistance movement, where their presence significantly boosted morale among the fighters.
At first, the resistance movement struggled, facing slow progress against the Häverists. However, the Lord of Nider used his international connections to reach out to the governments of Livaria and Atregona, appealing for military support. Over time, their efforts bore fruit, and foreign aid began to flow into the resistance movement, setting the stage for a broader struggle to reclaim Nestor from Häverist rule.
Military conflict
During the Häverist invasion of Nestor, several critical battles shaped the war’s course. The Battle of the Western Coast (7521 RH) of Congar and Tricora marked the beginning of the invasion, as Häverist forces launched amphibious assaults along the western shoreline, overwhelming Nestorian coastal defenders and securing a foothold. As the war progressed, the Siege of Crontol (7522 RH) saw the isolated island settlement dragged into the conflict. Crontol was attacked for its location between the Häverist controlled lands of Grünland and New Hoffnung. Initially thought to be safe due to its resource limitations, Crontol was surrounded and besieged, forcing its defenders into a grueling fight before their eventual surrender. Meanwhile, in the heart of Nestor, the Battle of Hivic mountains in 7523 RH became a prolonged guerrilla campaign where Nestorian resistance forces harassed Häverist supply lines and engaged in ambush tactics in the rugged mountain terrain. However, despite their resilience, they could not halt the enemy’s advances entirely.
As the war escalated, the Ricar Urban Battle (7525 RH) became a defining moment when Häverist mechanized forces clashed with Ricarian defenders in a desperate struggle for control of the industrial sector. Knowing their defeat was imminent, the defenders sabotaged key production centers, dealing a heavy blow to the Nestorian war effort. At sea, the Battle of the Twin Channel (7527 RH) saw remnants of the Nestorian navy in support of the Atregonan navy attempt to break through Häverist-controlled waters in a last-ditch effort to maintain supply lines to allied Livaria and Atregona. Though ultimately unsuccessful, the battle delayed a full-scale invasion of Atregona and bought the resistance time to regroup. Atregona was spared from an invasion despite helping Nestor during the war but the Atregonan navy was consistantly on high alert fearing an invasion. However due to the distance and the logistical strain on the Häverist warmachine, as time went on, Atregona never saw an invasion of the SOC. However, the SOC sank many ships attempting to arm the Nestorian resistance.
Years later, the tide began to turn during the Liberation of Nester Mayor (7546 - 7552 RH), a grueling campaign led by the resistance and supported by Livarian and Atregonan forces. Each major city became a battleground, with months of brutal urban combat culminating in the collapse of the Häverist-controlled Commonhold of Nestor and the ultimate victory of the resistance in 7552 RH.
Stoldish People in Nestor
The Häverists exploited the historical presence of Stoldish settlers in Nestor as a wargoal for their invasion. These settlers, who had originally migrated to the state of Nider from Stoldavia in the mid-7400s, a part of the Helreich cultural sphere, had peacefully integrated into Nestorian society over generations. By the time of the Häverist invasion, most Stoldish-descended people identified more with Nestor than with the distant Helreich. However, the Häverists claimed they were acting to "liberate" these Stoldish communities from the "barbarism" of the Nestorian lords and to reunite them with their cultural homeland.
While some isolated Stoldish tribes in Nestor aligned with the Häverists, most saw themselves as Nestorian and opposed the occupation. Today, the state of Nider still hosts a significant Stoldish-descended population, creating a unique cultural bridge between Nestor and the Helreich. Small Stoldish-aligned tribes occasionally serve as informal intermediaries between the two nations, maintaining a complex relationship that originated during this period.
"Barbaric Lords" and Häverist Ideology
The Häverists also framed their invasion as a moral crusade to bring order and modernity to Nestor. During the Warring Lords period, much of Nestor was fragmented under the rule of feuding lords, many of whom employed brutal and conservative practices. The Häverists portrayed these lords as barbaric oppressors and claimed their mission was to "free the Nestorian people" from tyranny while spreading their ideology of structured governance and societal control.
This justification appealed to some Nestorians who resented the old feudal system, but the Häverists’ heavy-handed occupation methods quickly eroded any initial support. They dismantled the traditional systems of governance, replacing them with a top-down administration that enforced Häverist ideals. Many lords were purged to reduce the chance of rebellion. The removal of the lords, while eliminating many of the flaws of the old system, also stripped Nestorians of a core part of their national identity, leading to widespread dissatisfaction and pockets of anarchy in areas beyond Häverist control. These regions became hotbeds for resistance, as the Nestorian people fiercely resisted the occupation. These regions served as refuge for Nestorian people, often starting in the underground train networks of large cities. Mulcator harbored a large underground resistance with the Rith sector being locked out all the way until 7651 RH when they were found. During the Häverist control, Ricar was the capital and the industrial district was rebuild.
Resistance and Liberation
The Nestorian resistance took root in the form of underground networks and guerrilla tactics, harassing Häverist forces and undermining their control. By 7530 RH, international support, particularly from Livaria, enabled the formation of organized rebel groups like the Sularic Rebels and Muncor Rebels. These groups, equipped with smuggled weapons and supplies, prolonged the resistance and steadily reduced Häverist influence.
In 7537 RH, the rebels captured the Garion Robotikindustrie, rebranding it Garion Robotic Induxars under Felix Garion, a supporter of the Nestorian rebellion. By 7539 RH, the rebels had reclaimed vast territories, forcing the Häverists to retreat. In 7541 RH, the last Häverist forces left Nestor, restoring the island’s independence. The United Herdom Alliance, now reformed and more unified, allied with Livaria to continue the fight against Häverism. A great Häverist purge occurred in 7543 RH, eradicating all remnants of Häverist influence.
Reconstruction and the Birth of the Nestoric Herdom
Reconstruction began in 7545 RH with Livarian aid, focusing on rebuilding the Ricar industrial sector, which became a hub of modern industrialization. Taxes were heavily reduced, and the limited national budget was allocated primarily to the military, with some funds set aside for universal basic income. The king and remaining lords were restored to their traditional roles, and most of the king's power was reinstated. The government was restructured into the Royal Diplomatic Corps and the Royal Defense Corps, reflecting a blend of old and new systems. By 7548 RH, talks began about maintaining the United Herdom Alliance as a permanent nation. In 7550 RH, the Nestoric Herdom was officially formed, though some regions, including Nester Minor, Spal, and a few areas on Nester Mayor, remained independent. The Pan-Anarian War Era officially concluded in 7552 RH, marking the end of a transformative period in Nestorian history. The war, occupation, and subsequent reconstruction reshaped Nestor’s identity, leaving a legacy of resilience and unity in the face of adversity.
Unification Era (7559 - 7585 RH)
In 7559 RH, the Loons and Drinors, the last independent nations on Nester Mayor, declared war. The conflict was brutal, marked by high casualties due to the use of advanced weaponry. By 7561 RH, both nations were pressured into peace talks by the growing power of the Nestoric Herdom. After extensive negotiations, the Loons and Drinors agreed to join the Herdom later that year.
From 7561 to 7567 RH, the Herdom began a broader unification process, negotiating with the nations of Spallar and Crontol, which officially joined in 7566 RH. This marked the end of isolationism for the Nestoric Herdom. For centuries, the isolation policy had limited foreign relations to prevent the influence of external religions. However, the recent wars demonstrated the necessity of engaging on the international stage. In 7567 RH, the Nestoric Herdom officially abandoned its isolationist stance, embracing diplomatic and economic interactions with the outside world.

Economic Era (7585 - 7664 RH)
The Wolgos Scourge began in 7585 RH, but the Nestoric Herdom remained neutral, instead focusing on weapon production for allied nations like Livaria. This war triggered rapid economic growth, with Garion Robotic Induxars (GRI) becoming the fastest-growing company in Nestor. While concerns about a GRI monopoly arose, they were largely dismissed.
To sustain the economic boom, Nestor invested in internal competition among its 13 states. After the Wolgos Scourge ended in 7603 RH, Nestor expanded its international trade, forming alliances and deals with nations like Cassia, Livaria, Arvor, and continuing its trade with Atregona. Between 7603 RH and 7659 RH, Nestor’s economy saw an unprecedented 592% growth.
Anibar civil war (7664 – 7676 RH)
- Main article: Rise of Orderism in Nestor
The Rise of Orderism in Anibar was a complex conflict between multiple factions, each fighting for power and a vision of Nestor's future. Beginning with protests in 7664, the conflict escalated into a civil war that lasted over a decade. Key players included the anti-nobility New Orderist Rebellion (NOR), the technocratic New Orderist Party (NOP), and the traditionalist Nestorian Imperial Party (NIP). The war saw alliances shift, minor foreign involvement, and deep social unrest, eventually leading to a fragile peace with the establishment of new political structures in Anibar.
Gothagraphy
Nestor is an island located next to Stoldavia and the island is split into five distinct, geographical regions. The Muncor coast, the Ensular basin, the Hivic mountains, Anibar, the Ertilan Peninsula and the Minor islands (Nestor Minor and Spal).
Muncor coast

The Muncor coast is the main entry point of the hot southern winds and currents coming from Ekhijal sea. This brings rainfall and warm temperatures to the Muncor coast turning the direct coast of southern Nestor Mayor into a warm medioan climate. This region is known as the warmest region with a lot of rain and also a lot of wind. The soil in this region is deep and fertile around the trees, allowing them to grow large and robust, but shallower in other areas, supporting grasses better than tree saplings. This variation in soil depth and quality naturally limits where trees can establish themselves. The region is also pron to periodic fires that are essential to the landscape of the Muncor Coast. The fires can be caused by lightingstrikes, human activity and in some rare cases, droughts. These fires burn grasses but not seriously harm mature, well-established trees with thicker bark that can resist fire damage. The grasses would then quickly re-sprout, preventing tree saplings from taking over preventing forests from forming.
Hivic mountains

In the Hivic mountains are main highlands of Nestor Mayor. These mountains divide the island in a northern and southern region. The southern part of the region is warmer and wetter then the norther region with the south western winds. These mountains in some regions are just tall enough to hold permanent snow with three tips reaching a little over 5000 meters however these tips are not very large. The average height of most mountains 1000 meters with peek regions average 1750 meters. The region has a large part covered in Boreal trees with the Alpine tundra in the peek regions. There is one gap Hivik mountains that is used as a passage between the region of Anibar the the Juncor state. The Hivic are known for their spiky nature what mean that traveling through these regions is rouch and caused a large divide between the north and south of Nestor Mayor. The Hivik mountains are believed to have been much taller but due to the rough wind erosion the mountains were shaped into spiky mountains. These mountains are mostly seen in the western region of the mountain region.
Mountain Topography and Erosion
The spiky nature of the mountains, especially prominent in the western region, is caused by a history of intense erosion, possibly due to a combination of wind, temperature fluctuations, and the freeze-thaw cycle. Such erosion would wear down the mountains over time, sharpening their peaks and making the landscape rugged and difficult to traverse. The spiky nature of the mountains in the western region in particular is caused partially by exposure to the prevailing weather systems but mainly a difference in rock composition that makes these mountains more susceptible to erosion, shaping them into the dramatic forms they exhibit today. The rough terrain of the Hivic mountains acts as a natural barrier between the northern and southern regions of the island. This division would resulted in distinct ecological and cultural differences between the two sides due to the relative difficulty of movement and communication across the spiky mountain passes. The Anor gap, used as a passage between Anibar and the Juncor state, is of significant geographical and historical importance. This pass is be located in an area where the mountains are not as high has carved a more accessible route. It is a critical trade route and strategic point, as well as a ecological corridor for species migration. This region is also the place were the North-South line is traveling through. The Hivic mountains were once much taller or at least wider and have been reduced by wind erosion caused by a long geological history. The current spiky appearance is also thought to be the result of other erosional forces, such as glacial carving during past ice ages, which tend to leave behind sharply pointed peaks and ridges but this has not been proved yet.
Anibar

The Anibar region is more then the state of Anibar, it is the entire northern coast of Nestor Mayor. Since Anibar is shielded from the southern wet winds by the Hivic mountains, it has a rain shadow effect, making it drier. The colder aspect are due to it facing the northern latitudes and having cold currents offshore. This kind of climate would typically support different types of vegetation and wildlife from south of the Hivic mountains. The dryness suggests that the region may have a landscape composed of open fields, scrublands, or forests with hardy coniferous trees adapted to less precipitation. The further west you go in the Anibar coast nutrients in the groud are less dominant due to less rainfall, the plant life here is specialized to survive in these conditions, with smaller leaves or needles to minimize water loss. Being a northern coastal region, Anibar features rugged cliffs and pebbly beaches.

Ertilan Peninsula
This region is dominated by a Maritime Climate which is stable. This region is also home to the most amount of people because it includes the bay area and states like Erincor, Dandagar, Nider, Giondo and Rinnar. The region has no large mountains and soil is wet and good for agriculture. The wildlife in this region also has more kinds of animals and most notably, birds. Because this region's weather is controlled by the sea, the weather is stable but also can produce storms and morning mist is quite common.

Political structure
Nestor operates as a highly minimalist state, combining elements of anarcho-capitalism with a strong focus on self-reliance and tribal governance. Key institutions like the military, basic infrastructure, and diplomatic functions are funded through a Land Value Tax (LVT) set at around 5%, while most other services are privatized.
Parliament
The Parliament of Nestor serves as a central body that ensures the balance of power within the nation. It does not wield executive authority but holds the important function of oversight, accountability, and advising the Royal Family. It is composed of representatives chosen from various tribes, each serving to voice the interests of their respective communities. The parliament’s role is primarily focused on legislation, including the creation of national laws, the approval of military budgets, and the review of major diplomatic actions.
While the Royal District, led by the monarchy, handles foreign relations, defense, and some domestic governance, the parliament provides an essential check on these powers, ensuring they remain aligned with the needs of the population. It can veto decisions made by the Royal Corps if they are deemed harmful or misaligned with public interests, though such vetoes are rarely exercised.
The parliament also plays a crucial role in ensuring that the policies enacted by the Royal Corps and the tribes are just and uphold the basic rights of Nestorians. It does so by holding annual reviews, discussing matters of national importance, and offering recommendations or criticisms where necessary.
Despite not having a direct role in day-to-day governance, the parliament of Nestor ensures that the monarchy’s power remains in check and that decisions made in the Royal District reflect the will and welfare of the people. It functions as a representative body that provides stability, allowing for democratic dialogue within the structure of Nestor’s largely decentralized government.
Royal District
The Royal District is the heart of Nestor's political, cultural, and diplomatic activities, housing the key institutions that preserve the nation’s royal legacy while supporting modern governance. It is the symbolic and administrative center where the Royal Family exercises its authority, though it does so within the framework established by the tribes and the oversight of the parliament.
The district is home to several essential bodies, including the Royal Diplomatic Corps (RDC), which manages foreign relations and ensures Nestor's interests are well represented on the international stage, and the Royal Unity Corps (RUP), which oversees the national cohesion between the various tribes and provides a stabilizing influence in times of conflict. The Royal Economic Corps (REC), another crucial institution, helps manage national resources and implements the economic policies set forth by the monarchy mostly.
Funding for the Royal District primarily comes from the Land Value Tax (LVT), ensuring that the district operates with minimal impact on the everyday lives of Nestorians. While the monarchy holds substantial influence over national defense, foreign diplomacy, and overall governance, the district’s role is carefully balanced by the democratic processes set in place by the parliament and the tribes.
The Royal District also serves as a cultural hub, where Nestorian traditions, governance, and royal heritage are celebrated and upheld. It plays a significant role in shaping the identity of Nestor, while its institutions remain crucial to the smooth functioning of the nation. Despite its power, the Royal District is not an isolated entity; it operates in close coordination with the tribal system and parliament, ensuring that governance is both inclusive and transparent.

Institutions of the Nestorian Government
The Royal District remains the central authority in Nestor, overseeing a number of key institutions that function together to preserve the monarchy’s influence while supporting a decentralized system of governance. It is the home of the following four royal branches: the Royal Diplomatic Corps (RDC), the Royal Economic Corps (REC), the Royal Unity Corps (RUP), and the Royal Military. Each branch has a distinct role in ensuring Nestor's prosperity, stability, and security, while adhering to the values of unity, democracy, and national well-being.
Royal Diplomatic Corps (RDC)
The Royal Diplomatic Corps is responsible for managing Nestor's international relations and ensuring that the nation’s voice is heard on the global stage. The RDC is tasked with negotiating treaties, fostering alliances, and managing diplomatic efforts with other nations, particularly in matters of trade, defense, and foreign policy. It operates under the guidance of the Royal Family, but its actions are subject to oversight by the parliament to ensure they reflect the will and interests of the people.
The RDC is also key in maintaining peaceful and stable relationships with neighboring nations and tribes. Given Nestor’s complex relationships with outside forces like the SOC, the RDC plays a crucial role in balancing diplomacy and defense, often working in close coordination with the Royal Military for strategic purposes. Members of the RDC are selected based on their diplomatic skills and experience, and they represent Nestor in embassies and consulates worldwide, engaging in both formal and informal negotiations.
Royal Economic Corps (REC)
The Royal Economic Corps primarily functions to manage the financial flows directed to the Royal District, ensuring that the Land Value Tax (LVT) is efficiently collected and allocated for the maintenance and operations of the Royal District. The REC’s primary task is not to manage the overall economy of Nestor, but rather to ensure that the monarchy’s resources are consistently replenished.
It oversees the administrative processes for collecting taxes from the tribes, ensuring that the Royal District has the necessary funds to maintain its operations, including its key institutions like the Royal Diplomatic Corps (RDC) and the Royal Military. Beyond this, the REC does not involve itself in economic regulation or public welfare — these responsibilities remain firmly under the jurisdiction of the tribes themselves.
The REC, while an important branch of the Royal District, has a narrow scope of authority and is more focused on logistical financial matters rather than broader economic policy. It serves as the financial backbone for the Royal District, enabling the monarchy to operate smoothly while leaving economic policy and resources management to the individual tribes.
Royal Unity Corps (RUP)
The Royal Unity Corps serves a more limited but vital role in the governance of Nestor. Its main function is to act as a mediator between the various tribes, particularly when inter-tribal conflicts arise or misunderstandings occur. The RUP steps in to facilitate dialogue and negotiations, helping resolve disputes that might otherwise disrupt the balance between the tribes or threaten national stability.
Rather than having an active governance role or extensive powers, the RUP works to maintain peace and cohesion within Nestor by assisting in matters of tribal relations. This can include help resolving conflicts or helping ensure that the royal interests are communicated effectively between the Royal District and the tribes. However, it does not exercise significant power or influence over the tribes’ day-to-day governance these matters remain the responsibility of the individual tribes.
The RUP is small in scale and primarily focuses on fostering collaboration and understanding within the tribal communities. Its existence is a reminder of the monarchy’s role as a unifying force, with the RUP acting as a facilitator rather than an enforcer.
Royal Military Corps (RMC)
The Royal Military, though a rebranded branch of the former military forces, now operates more integrally within the Nestorian governance structure, reflecting a shift from a purely martial organization to an active component of national defense and royal governance. It is charged with ensuring the protection of Nestor’s sovereignty, the safety of its people, and the preservation of peace both within and outside the nation’s borders.
While still serving as the nation’s primary defense force, the Royal Military now reports directly to the Royal District, coordinated with the Royal Diplomatic Corps and Royal Unity Corps to maintain the balance of power and security. The military’s role includes defense from external threats like the SOC, securing borders, and maintaining peace within Nestor itself. The Royal Military also plays a significant role in crisis management, especially during moments of extreme civil unrest or natural disasters.
The military’s leadership is structured hierarchically, with Tonk, the current chief of the Land Forces, overseeing all land-based operations. The Royal Military works in close coordination with the RUP to ensure that its operations align with the nation’s broader goals of unity and stability. Though it retains its martial focus, the Royal Military is now viewed as an integral part of the governance system, combining strategic defense with diplomatic and unity-oriented efforts.
Judicial system
Tribal disputes
Each tribe is empowered to resolve internal conflicts through its own Council, which is formed according to the tribe's customs and traditions. These councils handle the judging of disputes, but they cannot impose imprisonment or restrictive conditions unless they can prove the guilt of an individual. This proof, in the case of severe penalties like imprisonment, can only be provided by a neutral judge.
This ensures that while tribes maintain sovereignty over their internal matters, they must adhere to a standard of fairness when the stakes involve potentially punitive measures. The council's role is mostly to mediate, propose solutions, and handle less severe matters, while the neutral judge steps in to provide the legal grounding needed for harsher punishments.
Inter-Tribal Disputes
In situations where disputes arise between individuals from different tribes, the case must go through a neutral court system. The process for entering court is as follows:
- RUP-Tax: Both parties involved in the dispute must pay a RUP-tax to enter the court. This fee contributes to the creation of a vetted list of neutral judges, managed by the Royal Unity Corps (RUP). The RUP ensures the judges meet a high standard of impartiality and competence, preventing bias that might arise from private ownership or favoritism.
- Vetted List of Judges: The RUP’s role in maintaining this vetted list is crucial for ensuring that the court system remains fair and free of corruption. Only approved judges can be chosen, providing a sense of transparency and impartiality in the judicial process.
- Trial Costs: The costs of the trial itself, such as the judge's fees and other procedural expenses, are separate and must be paid directly by the parties involved. This ensures that both parties contribute fairly to the judicial process.
- Verdict and Consequences:
- If the judge finds the defendant not guilty, the case is closed with no further consequences.
- If the judge finds the defendant guilty, this verdict serves as proof of guilt. The individual can then be sent to a prison or held in a private holding. The specific conditions under which someone is held are defined by parliamentary law, which ensures that prisoners are treated humanely and not subjected to inhumane or degrading conditions.
Checks and Balances
To prevent abuse of the system:
- Parliamentary Oversight: Parliament plays a crucial role in setting the acceptable treatment of prisoners, ensuring that there is no misuse of power by the judges or authorities responsible for confinement. This guarantees that the system is not just fair in terms of guilt or innocence but also humane in its treatment of individuals who are held in custody.
- Neutrality and Transparency: By ensuring that the RUP manages the selection and vetting of judges and by making the costs of trial separate from the general funding of the judicial system, the process stays transparent and accessible. The RUP acts as a neutral mediator but does not engage in the judgment itself, which helps maintain its impartiality.
Tribal Communities
Nestor’s tribal communities are integral to the nation's social and governance structure. Each tribe consists of 120-150 members and operates as a semi-autonomous unit, managing local resources, security, and social services. These tribes take on key responsibilities such as population management, conflict resolution, and community development, reducing the reliance on centralized government services.
In urban areas, tribes often collaborate with between 3 to 24 other tribes to provide essential services such as education, healthcare, and firefighting. These collaborations are coordinated through tribal councils, which ensure that services are fairly distributed across the city. This system is designed to prevent any section of the city from being underserved, with each council also contributing to joint infrastructure investments. Some councils even maintain an investment fund for larger-scale projects that benefit multiple tribes.
Despite their collaboration, each tribe maintains its own identity and operates as an independent entity, working together for mutual benefits but not merging into a single community. Unlike the internal cohesion within a single tribe, where members share a closer, more integrated relationship, the collaborations between tribes are focused on practical, shared goals.
Tribal Councils are responsible for resolving disputes and coordinating activities between different tribes. The government steps in only for significant inter-tribal conflicts or when national laws, managed by the Royal Unity Corps (RUP), need to be enforced. This decentralized approach allows for a vibrant, flexible system of governance that emphasizes local control while still maintaining national coherence.
Subdivisions
The nation is split into 13 lords with 11 on Nestor Major, one on Nestor Minor and one on Spal. Each of these lords has their own system for how they want to split their own state. Each state has to stay loyal to the king and not doing so will make the state look like a traitor. If a state is not loyal they have broken the chivalry code which makes them look bad. If a lord breaks the code, they would lose people rather quickly because the people are afraid that more of the code will be broken. A no go for the Nestoric Herdom following Nestic Erecund.

Foreign relations
- Main article: Foreign affairs of Nestor
The islands are located on a path between Anaria, Altaia and D’Runia. Even though nations can avoid the international waters of Nestor, this location makes the nation a trade hub between the three continents. Nestoric lords prefer to be able to trade with every nation on international trade but the national parliament wants to minimize certain political ideologies to enter Nestor, most notably orderism.
Military
The Nestorian Armed Forces consist of five branches: the Nestorian Air Force, the Nestorian Navy, the Nestorian Marine, the Nestorian Special Forces and the Nestorian Militia. The Nestorian army is divided into two main groups, the national army and the tribal army. The national army focuses on spearheads, firepower and shock. The national army has the majority of the Air Force, Navy, Marines and Special Forces under their control due to their heavy use of expensive equipment. The tribal army is a light fast moving infantry army which a lot of men in the country are a part of. The tribal army can grow to a maximum size of close to 25% of the population. This number of soldiers has not happened before but the nation has law in place to mobilize ten million extra soldiers between 18 and 65 in a few weeks in an emergency. The active military personal under direct command of the Nestorian minister of defense is small but extremely well trained, quality over quantity.
The minister of defense is (XXX) who is in charge of the national military and the department of mission control. The department of mission control does not have any combat personnel but they hire private military contractors (PMC) from the tribal army. The mission control department gives mission with details which PMC can follow. The mission have a set of rules which the PMC's have to follow, especially when they are going international. The factional militaries have their own councils of leaders known has the Generals Counsel. These generals often have national competition against each other in two teams of between one and three generals. This improves cooperation and skill for the generals. These competitions are seen as the main sport in the country.

Tax system

The tax system in Nestor, officially known as the Land Value Tax System of Nestor, is a historically significant mechanism that plays a crucial role in the nation’s economy and governance. Introduced in the year 7471 RH as part of a broader series of political reforms, the tax system was designed to balance the interests of the ruling lords, the monarchy, and the growing demands for democratic governance.
Historical Background
Nestor was traditionally an absolute monarchy, with power concentrated in the hands of the king and the noble lords who controlled vast estates across the country. However, during the late 7460s, increasing pressure from the populace for more democratic governance led to significant political changes. In response to growing unrest and the fear of losing their power, the lords and the king established a parliamentary system. While the parliament was granted significant decision-making authority, the king retained veto power, ensuring that the monarchy continued to play a vital role in governance.
To address public dissatisfaction and stabilize the political landscape, the lords introduced the Land Value Tax (LVT) system. The system was seen as a progressive reform that would not only generate revenue for national services but also curb the influence of wealthy landowners who had previously benefited from the concentration of land ownership.
The LVT system was introduced gradually, with initial tax rates set at a modest level to allow for a smooth transition. This phased approach helped to secure public support and minimize resistance from those who initially opposed the tax.
The introduction of the LVT was not without controversy. Wealthy landowners, who were accustomed to minimal taxation, were among the most vocal critics. However, the lords’ control over the parliament allowed them to push through the reforms, ensuring that the LVT became a cornerstone of Nestor’s fiscal policy.
Structure of the Tax System
The Land Value Tax in Nestor is primarily based on the value of land, rather than the buildings or improvements made upon it. This system was implemented to encourage the productive use of land and to prevent speculative holding, which had been a significant issue in the pre-reform era.
Key Features
- Fixed-Size Tax-Free Zones: Each noble lord is granted a fixed amount of land that is exempt from the LVT. These tax-free zones are strictly limited in size and are located outside of urban centers to ensure that the most economically valuable lands contribute to the public treasury. The purpose of these zones is to allow lords to maintain their traditional estates without disrupting the economic growth of cities.
- State-Owned Royal Districts: The king's royal district is exempt from the LVT due to its status as state-owned land. The royal palaces and surrounding lands are considered national assets, and thus, do not generate tax revenue. This provision was made to preserve the dignity and status of the monarchy while aligning with the broader tax principles.
- Tribal and Cultural Exemptions: In recognition of Nestor’s tribal community structure, certain lands of cultural or spiritual significance are exempt from the LVT. These exemptions are granted to preserve the nation’s heritage and respect the traditional practices of various tribes. This includes for example religious buildings and monuments.
- Opportunity contribution: The base LVT is set at 4% but when a company or person owns a lot of land in region (not overall), there is a opportunity contribution. This is an additional pay that is on top of the base 5% (up to 10% extra) that prevent lands hoarding in important areas if the land owner prevents other people to make use of the land. The opportunity contribution is 0.5% for each doubling of the land own in the area. The areas are set up by the REC and these don't change much (maybe once every decade but many regions remained unchanged until today) and many of them are based on historical borders.

Review system
Reviews are an important system in Nestor because it serves as a reputation system for the companies within the nation. There are a few platforms that provide user-driven reviews and these reviews are often used by people. There are also companies that offer paid reviews that check the companies more indepth. These companies rank other companies in their own lists and people who are cautious often pay for these more in depth lists. These lists can be found online but most of of them are found in magazines and sometimes certain newspapers too.
Patents
Nestor has a national patents system where every patent can be used by anyone in the nation but not outside the nation. If another company outside the nation wants to use the patent, they have to pay royalties to the one that created the patent. This system improves innovation while also keeping the inventions to serve the nation. Internatioal patents within the nation are not enforced but companies can not sell these products outside the nation unless they pay royalties to the patent holder in whatever country they are from. This makes the Nestorian economy very competative and it makes sure everyone has to keep moving forwards because otherwise the company can go bankrupt.
The G.R.I. is a company that buys up a lot of national patent for international use. They do this because smaller Nestorian companies have trouble protecting their patents so these companies sell a share of their royalties to the G.R.I. making the G.R.I. a very valuale Nestorian company. The G.R.I. also provides services that do not trigger monopoly triggers in tribes causing them to not be forcing to split up or be boycotted. Due to the G.R.I. deep involvement in the Nestorian economy (especially the manufacturing industry), they often join the Royal Diplomatic Corps to strike international deals. But keep in mind that the G.R.I. "only" holds 16% of the national economy and not a mayority.
Usage Rule
Many tribal councils and city councils set up a limit on how long a peice of land can be vaccant for. The national parlement has set the rules for this, minimum of 10 years and maximum for 50 years. The city council can decide where they want to put this limit at. If the councils set no limits, the default system is used: In the city: 15 years, In the town: 25 years, In the countryside (town nor city): 50 years. When the limit is reached, the land is back to being for "sale" again and this is done by the council in the region. If there is no tribe or council in the region, the higher level council will decide and this mostly means that the person/tribe/company who use to own the land has to re-apply.
Political Implications
The LVT system in Nestor is not just an economic tool but also a key element of the nation’s political framework. By introducing the LVT, the lords were able to maintain their power and status in a rapidly changing political environment. The system also provided the king with a mechanism to align with popular sentiment, using his veto power to protect the LVT from potential dilution by wealthy interests.
The tax system has also led to ongoing debates within Nestor’s parliament, particularly regarding the size and location of tax-free zones, the fairness of redistribution mechanisms, and the balance of power between the monarchy, the lords, and the parliament.

Transport system
The transport system in Nestor is centered around a vast and highly efficient rail network, with a unique combination of gauges and a high reliance on private trains. The use of three types of rail gauges (medium, half, and double) allows for versatile transportation, with specific gauges suited for different areas and demands. The half gauge (72 cm) and rare quarter gauge (36 cm) are used in rural or less populated areas, while the 144 cm medium gauge is the standard for most of the nation. Double gauges (2 x 144 cm) serve high-capacity routes, connecting key cities and handling significant cargo.
In urban areas, trains, trams, and metro systems dominate, with tracks above ground in older districts and below ground in newer ones. Stations are designed with multiple tracks, allowing for smooth operations with a track dedicated to overtaking slower trains. The parking lots for trains at stations are key to maintaining fluid traffic flow and preventing disruptions.
While the rail network is the primary mode of transport, roads are still necessary for connecting more distant rural areas. These roads are primarily one or two lanes, often gravel, reflecting the low demand for road transportation. The toll system on roads and rail tracks ensures that the infrastructure is maintained and efficiently managed, with toll-collector companies simplifying the billing process for users. The toll-collector companies streamline the process for the public, making it convenient to access transport without overwhelming the infrastructure.
Becasue cars and trucks are rare and expensive in the cities, mini trucks and pallet movers are more commonly used for transport within urban environments.
Decentralized Transport Operators
Nestor has a vast rail system both in and between the cities, many of lines on these tracks are privately operated by different independent groups and companies. The most important routes inlcude the Mayor Route, Sularic Route and the Munco Route. These route often have multiple different companies operating on these line competing against eachother, the most important of these companies of these companies is Flactron Movers. Flactron Movers, does have the Transport Unification Service (TUS) that aims to make it as easy for the users of the transport system to find their way. The company operates many transportstations and does provide supply and demand studies for the transport companies to use to provide the service. Flactron Movers is the company that provides order in the otherwise chaotic Nestorian transportation system by providing one place will all the routes, prices, timetables and demands. Companies that actually provide the transport include Crantour, Nestren and Flactron Movers itself.
The trainnetwork of Nestor has both a rigid system operated by large companies for relative low prices but there are also other kinds of sercies provided. So can people and companies easily request transport lines and these are provided by small trains resembling busses or trucks on the tracks. This makes the transport system in Nestor flexible without having a large road network. The Nestorian roads mostly consist of gravel roads with only the most important roads in the nation having asphalt. In small towns the tribes and the tribal counsil operate thier own transport system with the smallest towns using the 36cm gauge wich can only seat 1 person row. These small trains have their orgin from the mining industry but they have been refitted to serve also people transport.
In the cities every tribal counsil (between 600 and 1750 people) has their own trackstation and their own trains. Depending on the tribe, this can be entire trainyard with full trains often offering these trains to be borrowed or it can be single half gauge track with one platform or and one small bus-sized train. These tribes have authority over their rail stations and tracks, with agreements in place for maintenance, safety, and usage with companies or other tribes. In places like sectors in Ricar, the money middle-man is removed, offering goods and services in trade for free transport, this is a common by companies like Garion Robotic Industries.
Private trains are allowed on public tracks as on as the toll is paid. There are many different types of private trains from luxurious to military trains and from cargo trains to sleeper trains. Also, almost all of the traintracks nationwide are electrified. The whole reason fo the electrification of the transport system is due to very low amount of Coal and Oil in Nestor. Solar boilers, wood burners and imported coal are not economical enough for the vast majority of trains in Nestor due the low power, large amount needed or straight up cost.
Demographics
Gender
Nestor is a nation known for its traditional values that have been in place since the time of warring lords. Gender roles are an important part of the culture here, although they are not enforced by laws. People of any gender are free to pursue the careers they desire. While some professions might have fewer men or women, this is not seen as a problem as long as the person is skilled. Criticizing such choices is seen as an attack on the hierarchy of competence, which is not accepted in Nestor.
The influence of the warring lords era, despite its distance in the past, still greatly impacts gender roles. During that time, women outnumbered men, which allowed women to expand their roles beyond traditional boundaries. Previously, women were primarily expected to support the population growth, but this era enabled them to contribute to the workforce. Before this period, women were limited to childcare and were absent from education and other professions. However, during the warring lords era, women became dominant in fields like education, healthcare, and social work.
Men, on the other hand, tended to gravitate towards jobs involving physical materials, like construction, science, engineering, and the military. This inclination was supported by research conducted by King Bulgun of Giondo on gender preferences. These gender roles are not only evident in the workplace but also extend to the home. Women typically take on childcare responsibilities at home or work part-time if they don't have children. Men, regardless of whether they have children, typically work full-time. It's important to note that not all households adhere to this system, but it is the most common arrangement.
Ethnic groups
In Nestor, the dominant ethnic group is the Nestors themselves, but there are also other ethnic groups living within the country's borders. The nation engages in significant trade with the regions of D’runia, Anaria, and Atlaia, which leads to people from these places coming to live in Nestor. Integration is highly valued in Nestor due to the importance of preserving their traditional culture. The number of ethnic Nestorians leaving the country is low because of their strong cultural ties to the nation.
Languages
The Nestorian language is an old language with it being likely thousands of years old. The Nestorian language has evolve to be more precise and descriptive, compensating for the less use of the mind's eye. People rely heavily on verbal communication, detailed descriptions, and tactile or physical representations of concepts. Even though there are just an average amount of blind people in Nestor, sign language is very popular also very old. The sign language helps the people communicate easier because it gives an extra layer of dept to the description to what the people say. Sign language also helps which communication is places where it is loud, the person has to be quiet or the concept is easier to sign than to say. The verbal and the sign language are often used beside each other for fast and clear communication. The sign language is an important part of Nestorian culture. In addition to help with more full communication with using sound and gestures to talk, also blind people feel more inclusive in Nestor because sign language is seen as part of the Nestorian language instead of a separate language. Sign language is also very popular during story telling to give the listener more immersion.
There are two ways of pronoucing the words, the flat version and the dynamic version. Many words end with a rougher -or, -on, -ar, -er, -in or -ic making the laugauge sometimes appear agressive. In the rough version of the language the full letter are pronouced but in the dynamic version the last letter that is causes the word to close like -r -n or -c are not pronouced and the vowel is extended. The way it is written is not changed however.

Men's Fashion
Inspired by the valor and fortitude of medieval knights, men's fashion in Nestor exudes a utilitarian charm, emphasizing preparedness and resilience. Key garments, such as tactical jackets and cargo pants, are crafted with functionality in mind, boasting ample pockets for essentials and tools. Predominantly fashioned from black wool, these garments symbolize strength, safeguarding wearers with an aura of chivalric virtues.
Women's Fashion
Drawing inspiration from the grace and elegance of maidens and princesses from the past, Nestorian women's fashion radiates an ethereal allure. Skirts and dresses reign supreme, offering a nod to tradition while accommodating modern sensibilities. Adaptations for climate variance include layered ensembles with woolen textures and longer lengths for cooler seasons. Cinema
The nation saw its first moving picture in 7611 after importing the technology from Anaria. The first moving picture depicted the royal family at the time showing the balcony of the royal palace in Giondo. The moving picture was created by Nigol Verozan who wanted to test the technology in Nestor. When the proof of concept was done by Nigol Verozan, the National Bureau of Film (NBF) was created. The first true Nestorian movie hit was in 7679 with the start of Erinica, a series of movies about the old Erinic Empire. The series currently has five main movies and a few other lower production movies.
Media
The personal television is not a large part of Nestorian culture which meant that the personal television got into the home of Nestorian people relatively late. The news till this day is mostly provided in newspaper and reported via the radio. Every hour of the day, the radio will report the latest news and often more then once an hour. Radio still plays a large role in Nestorian but the television is entering people's home at increasing every since the 7670s when Nestorian television started to produce a larger array of content for television. The Nestorian government heavily controls the programs that is shown on Nestorian Television in order to preserve its traditions.
Pornography
Pornography is heavily regulated and there is a high degree of censorship for international pornography. Pornography as a whole is not banned but certain acts (copulation) can not be shown in pictures and especially not in video form. This is national law, enforced by local police forces. The pornography that is produced in the nation is only created by professionals in art institutions where the working conditions of the people involved can be investigated. Most of the explicit content created in Nestor is nudity, there are no regulations for that. Even though certain pornography is banned, all veriants are still produced due to the lack of care of police forces.
Cuisine
The cuisine of Nestor has evolved over centuries, with its roots deeply entwined with the traditions of the old Erinic Empire. These early influences can still be seen today in Nestoric culinary practices, which emphasize simplicity, quality, and balance. A pivotal transformation in Nestoric cuisine occurred during the 7300s, when potatoes and tomatoes were introduced from distant lands, quickly becoming staples of their diet. Over time, each lordship contributed unique regional dishes, which have since blended into the globally recognized Nestoric cuisine.
Nestoric cuisine is defined by its diversity and its reliance on a few key ingredients, including pasta, fish, fruit, vegetables, and eggs. Known for its extreme simplicity, most Nestoric dishes use no more than ten ingredients, with some requiring as few as four. This minimalist approach emphasizes the natural flavors of high-quality ingredients rather than relying on elaborate preparation techniques. The cornerstone of Nestoric cooking is achieving harmony between taste and texture, creating meals that are satisfying yet straightforward.
Staple ingredients in the Nestoric diet include pasta, which is often paired with fresh tomato-based sauces infused with herbs and olive oil. Opar, a traditional flatbread made from wheat dough, is topped with tomatoes, and sometimes smoked fish or roasted vegetables. Berries, abundant on the island thanks to its fertile soil, are a vital part of the diet, used in sauces, desserts, and preserves. Eggs and fish are central to both savory dishes and desserts, while vegetables like tomatoes, zucchini, and leafy greens add freshness and nutrition. Wine, a celebrated product of Nestor, serves as both an ingredient and a complement to meals.
Desserts and Meal Structure

Desserts in Nestor celebrate the island’s rich natural flavors, often featuring ingredients such as eggs, berries, honey, and vanilla. One popular specialty is Aruto, a baked egg custard topped with caramelized berries. Other common desserts include berry tarts and simple custards, each showcasing the island's abundant produce.
The structure of meals in Nestor reflects a cultural focus on productivity during the day and relaxation at night. Breakfast is typically light and liquid-based, consisting of water enriched with supplements, blended fruits, or simple porridges. Lunch is slightly more substantial but remains modest, often featuring small servings of pasta, salads, or fish. Small snacks, such as dried berries, nuts, or pastries, are consumed throughout the day to stave off hunger without lowering productivity. Dinner is the most significant meal of the day, served right before bedtime. This meal usually includes hearty dishes such as pasta or fish, paired with vegetables and concluded with a dessert. The cultural belief is that a full stomach promotes restful sleep.
Culinary Philosophy and Regional Specialties
Nestoric cooks prioritize the natural flavor of ingredients, using simple techniques that highlight the quality of local produce. This philosophy, rooted in the balance between taste, texture, and simplicity, has earned Nestoric food acclaim worldwide. Although some might consider Nestoric dishes "blunt" compared to more spice-heavy cuisines, their refined simplicity is celebrated for its wholesome and satisfying qualities.
Each region of Nestor contributes unique specialties based on local resources. In berry-rich areas, sauces, jams, and berry-infused desserts dominate the culinary landscape. Coastal regions emphasize seafood, with smoked or grilled fish often accompanied by berry chutneys or vegetable stews. Inland regions excel at creating rich egg-based dishes, hearty stews, and baked goods using locally milled grains.
Physiological Impact of Nestoric Cuisine
The nutrient-rich diet of Nestor has shaped the unique physiology of its people. Berries, a cornerstone of the Nestoric diet, are packed with antioxidants such as the rare compound Nezal. These antioxidants reduce oxidative stress, slow the aging process, and promote overall vitality. High berry consumption also improves collagen production, enhancing skin quality and contributing to the soft, youthful skin that Nestoric women are known for. The anthocyanins in berries also enhance eye health and causes the varied eye colors in Nestor.
Fish and eggs, staples of the Nestoric diet, provide essential proteins and healthy fats that support muscle development, skin elasticity, and brain function. Fresh vegetables like tomatoes, zucchini, and leafy greens supply vitamins A and C, which support skin regeneration, slow aging, and boost immune health. Wheat-based pasta and Opar provide sustained energy for physical labor without sharp blood sugar spikes, while fermented foods and wine enhance gut and heart health.
Despite its many benefits, the Nestoric diet has some drawbacks. High antioxidant levels contributes to light sensitivity in individuals with certain traits, such as black eyes. The simplicity of the cuisine could lead to nutrient deficiencies if meals lack variety, and the heavy dinners, though culturally significant, sometimes result in digestive issues or weight gain in some individuals.
Challenges for Nestorians Abroad
The reliance on native foods has created significant challenges for Nestorians who attempt to live abroad. Their diet includes unique elements not found or easily replicated in other regions. Many Nestorian berries contain Nezal, a rare antioxidant critical for cellular repair and vitality. Native fermented foods provide enzymes essential for digestion and nutrient absorption, while local fish are rich in Isolipin, a lipid necessary for brain function and maintaining soft skin.
Nestorians abroad can experience fatigue, weakened immune systems, and accelerated aging due to the absence of Nezal. Women can lose their soft skin, and men may suffer from reduced endurance and muscle tone. Cognitive decline and mental fatigue can also occurs without Isolipin. The results of not taking Nezal is different per person can result to no differences. Consequently, Nestor has remained focused on preserving its cultural unity and identity, with food serving as a powerful symbol of its connection to the homeland.
Historical Struggles with Native Ingredients
The reliance on unique ingredients has not only shaped the health and culture of the Nestorian people but also played a significant role during times of conflict. During the Häverist war against Helreich, the invaders recognized the critical importance of these ingredients to the survival and resilience of the Nestorian population. Targeted attacks on farms producing these essential berries, nuts, and other native resources became a deliberate strategy to weaken the population. By limiting the production of these vital foods, the Häverist occupation endured longer than expected, as the Nestorian people suffered from malnourishment, weakened immune systems, and reduced physical and mental capacities.
In response, an underground resistance movement emerged, focusing on the covert cultivation of these vital crops. Farmers risked their lives growing the berries and nuts in secret, hiding their efforts deep within the island’s forests and away from Häverist control. The secret operations not only helped restore the health of the resistance fighters but also inspired a renewed sense of hope and resilience among the population. Livarian allies supported this effort by supplying not just weapons but also farming tools and equipment, ensuring the resistance could sustain itself during the darkest days of the occupation.
These critical ingredients are not limited to the berries and nuts but also include a native river fish and a special bird species unique to Nestor. The eggs of these birds, distinct from common chicken eggs, are a rich source of nutrients essential to the Nestorian diet. The combination of these foods ensures the health and vitality of the people, making them irreplaceable in the Nestorian way of life. Even today, the memory of these hardships and the reliance on these unique resources remains a cornerstone of Nestorian identity, symbolizing their resilience and unity in the face of adversity.

Ricarian apartment initiative
To accompany the fast constant population growth and the growing economy the building of more high rises is becoming more popular. The Ricar urban development system which was already well tested by this point started to be constructed in all major cities in the local style. But most cities did not construct or are not constructing large Ricarian style urban plans.
Modern tribal homes
Modern Nestorian apartment don't have hot running water. The people believe that taking a cold shower is a sign of resilience, strength and discipline. Hot water softens the person up and it is expensive to heat all that water. Hot water infrastructure never became widespread in the nation and the disire to have it is very low until this day. People in Nestor do still sometimes like to have a warm shower or bath so therfore there are bathhouses in some tribal homes.

Tribal housing units
Nestorian tribes live in communal tribal housing units of a maximum of 150 members. This 150 threshold is based on the size of tribes from back in pre-historic times and on the fact that the human brain can create bonds with more then 150 people. The tribal houses are made of large limestone blocks, one outher layer supporting the mainstructure between 10cm and 30cm depending on the load, the middle of wall is usually filled with wool for insulation and the innerwalls are made of 5cm to 15cm of limestone again. This limestone is sometimes also covered with wood or another finishing layer if the tribe wants it.
