The Nestoric Lordship (Nestor Herdom) is a nation state on the island of Nestor. The island is located in north Settant sea and it consists of two major island, Nestor Major and Nestor Minor. The nation consists of 13 lords with the a king as the head of state.

Each lord has relative autonomy with the nation and the lords often compete with each other to create a strong economy. The strong competition between the lords is part of Nestoric culture and finds its roots in the warring lords period in Nestoric history. Each lord is in charge of a Faction which which have their own local governments and different way of governing. The nation has an united parliament where for each 60 thousand people, the lord earns one seat in parlement. To gain more power, the lords needs more people. In order to attract people to their Faction, the lords try to make their region as attractive as possible. This healthy competition sparks a lot of innovation and development. The nation is known to have a capitalistic economic system that insists on constant competition to improve. The nation is known for its military culture, high quality manufacturing and their traditional values.

Etymology

The name of the nation originates from the post-warring lords' era, a time that followed the dominance of the Erinic Empire, which had unified the region before the era of the warring lords. In the native language, Erecund was originally known as Erincund, which had been incorporated into the Erinic Empire.

After the fall of the Erinic Empire, each lord ruled over their respective regions, and they named their states after these regions. It was during this time that the kingdom of Giondo emerged, uniting the various lords. As the kingdom began trading with Helreich, the people of Helreich were surprised to find that most inhabitants of the nation lived in castles. Consequently, they referred to the people of the kingdom as the “people of the castle.”

As many lords disliked the idea of the kingdom being named after one of the states, they started using the native translation of “people of the castle.” In the native language, “castle” translates to “nest,” and adding the suffix “-or” indicates “people of.” This led to the creation of the name “Nestor.”

However, the lords wanted to emphasize the unique factor of the nation, symbolized by their lordship. In the native language, “lordship” translates to “Herdom.” Thus, the combination of “Nestor” and “Herdom” gave rise to the modern name of Nestoric Herdom, meaning “People of the Castled Lordship.”

By using these names, the nation sought to honor its history and heritage, representing the amalgamation of its past as well as the distinct qualities of its united people and their lordship.

History

Ancient History

The island of Nestor Mayor has been inhabited for a long time. The people on the island were known as the Nestalic but this is because the real name of the tribe was lost due to a lack of written records. The Nestalics lived a simple life as nomads of the land and used fishing techniques. The Nestalics were introduced to farming and other technologies from the mainland of Anaria. This meant that even though Nestor was on an island, they still received technologies from the mainland.

Religious Clash

The Nestalics and the peoples of the mainland lived in relative peace for a while. From the southern lands the religion of Erecund spread to the Nestor islands. The Nestalics accepted the religion with open arms. The religion the Nestalic up to this point believed in was very limited and Erecund provided much more guidance.

However, around this time the new religion of Orkanan started to spread from the Anarian mainland to the isles in the east. The Orkanan religion quickly replaced Erecund. The Nestalics were not pleased with the Orkanan spread and wars were fought between the Erecund nations and the Orkanan nations. Orkanan nations won the wars pushing the Erecund religion deep into Astragonian territory and on the island of Nestor Mayor. The Nestalics turned unfriendly to almost all the Anarian friends so therefore the nation closed its borders. The closing of the borders was meant to protect the island from the Orkanan religion. But because Astragonia also kept its Erecund religion going, the Nestalics allowed only Astragonia to trade with them. All non-Astragonian ships were not allowed to enter any Nestalic harbour under any circumstances.

Warring Lords Period (xxx - 6950)

The Nestalics were united under the Erinics during the wars against the Orkanan nations. When the Erinics closed the borders of the nation to reduce outside influence, the national economy went into recession. This economic recession caused the nation to become unstable and a few decades later, the nation was split into 58 lords. All 58 lords fought over control of the islands but because the previous kingdom put lords in power in balanced regions, no lord had an advantage. The warring lords fought each other in deadly wars for a very long time. The lords created large defensive structures in their lands and a high birth rate was upheld. The war fought between the lords was deadly for both sides, but because of the constant high birth rate, the population stayed stable.

The warring lords created a strong warrior culture under the soldiers. Every fit man would serve in the military, if the soldier survived long enough, he was deemed worthy of a family. The wars provided for a type of natural selection that caused only the best soldiers to reproduce. This system caused a large surplus of women during this period. The strongest and most successful soldiers were allowed to retire and focus on raising a whole new generation of soldiers. This meant that a woman married to a soldier had an obligation to have as many children as possible. The women who didn’t get married to a soldier became dominant in the social services of the nation including basic education, nursing and caretaker.

The Nestoric Herdom and the rise of Giondo

After enduring centuries of unrelenting warfare, the alliance led by the lord of Giondo emerged as the predominant power on the island. Recognizing the need for a more cohesive governance structure, the lord of Giondo proposed a revolutionary idea – transforming the island into a federated monarchy. This visionary approach aimed to replace the previous singular authority attempting to unify the island with a system where each lord retained autonomy over their respective lands, while adhering to common national laws.

The implementation of this federated monarchy significantly reduced conflicts across the island, attracting more lords to join the alliance. By the time the Nestorian alliance was established, only 12 lords remained. Initially, these lords had engaged in fierce competition, with war as the primary driving force. However, as conflicts gradually diminished, a new era dawned, marked by economic competition among the lords. This shift propelled the nation into a golden age, fostering prosperity and growth. Emboldened by the success of Nestor's golden age, the lords decided to reopen the borders to the outside world.

One lingering challenge faced by the nation was the absence of a single head of state among the 12 lords. In response, the lords devised a unique system wherein they would democratically elect a new king, the head of the lords, each time the incumbent king passed away. To prevent the risk of civil war, the lords ensured that there were always two kings or heirs alive concurrently. The elected king's authority was limited to national laws, while a national parliament was established to vote on such laws, giving the king a mere veto power rather than full authority.

With the transformation of governance and the nation's newfound stability, a change in nomenclature became imperative. The former name, White Alliance, no longer accurately represented the evolving reality. Nestor Mayor, once marred by castles due to the incessant conflicts of the warring lords period, was rebranded during a delegation from Helreich. The nation came to be known as the Land of Castles or, in Nestorian parlance, the Land of Nests. Embracing its federated monarchy, the word 'herdom' was incorporated to refine the name further, resulting in the birth of the nation now known as the Nestoric herdom. The Nestoric Herdom had 29 kings with the most comming from Giondo.

In 7212 king Gardaro died at the age of 86, the oldest king at that point. The kings were getting much older then expected therefor a 3rd rank was created, elder king. This meant when the king was seen as unfit, the next in line would take ove the job and the elder was just a figure head without any power. This was done at the age of 75.

Industrialization of the Nestoric Herdom

The continued competition saw a few lords start to industrialize. The city of Ricar invested heavily in the industry and factories and soon became the main industrial city of the Herdom. The city started to produce mostly guns and other war materials. These war materials were exported mainly to Anaria.

Not long after the great industrial works of Ricar were running, the second Wolgos war broke out. Many nations were in need of weapons precisely what the main industrial hardland of the nation was making. The selling of weapons during the Wolgos wars made the Nestoric Herdom very rich. The Nestoric military also played a part in the Wolgos wars. The excess money the nation got from the militaries buying their weapons was used to invest in a more diverse economy. The nation had a vision to become the best factory in the world. They didn’t aim to produce an overwhelming amount of cheap products but they aimed at a decent amount of high quality products.

First Wolgos War (7598-7603)

The northern coast of Nestor Mayor was often attacked by the Wolgos. The intensity increased slowly over time. But a few years before the official Wolgos war started, a part of the northern coast was under control of the Wolgos. The Nestoric Herdom fought the Wolgos fiercely even though they didn’t know how. At first the lords lost many battles against the Wolgos but the dertimed lords with centuries of war experience slowly started to make great gains in getting their island back. At this point, the Wolgos were at war with a large Anarian Alliance. After the Wolgos were pushed off Nestor Mayor, the Nestorics fought the Wolgos on other fronts in the war.

After the First Wolgos War (7603-7648)

The efforts the Nestorics put in the war improved relations between the Orkanan Anarians and the Erecund Nestorics. The Nestoric Herdom saw great improvements in technology, standard of living and resources but they were determined to keep the lordship in place. The lords competed against each other since the fall of the Erinics and this provided constant growth in technology, in order to keep this innovation going, the Herdom created a system where the lords still competed against each other but instead of via wars, they would use economics and friendly romp instead.

Rise of Orderism in Nestor (7664-7674)

Main article: Rise of Orderism in Nestor

The Nestorian Conflict, a pivotal chapter in the history of Nestor, unfolded as Nestor, a conservative and militaristic island nation, faced internal turmoil amid growing influence from the Stolvic Orderist Commonwealth. This conflict, spanning from 7676 to 7687, marked a significant departure from Nestor's historically stable trajectory.

Gothagraphy

Nestor is an island located next to Stoldavia and the island is split into five distinct, geographical regions. The Muncor coast, the Ensular basin, the Hivic mountains, Anibar, the Ertilan Peninsula and the Minor islands (Nestor Minor and Spal).

The Muncor coast

Muncor coast landscape

The Muncor coast is the main entry point of the hot southern winds and currents coming from Ekhijal sea. This brings rainfall and warm temperatures to the muncor coast turning the direct coast of southern Nestor Mayor into a warm medioan climate. This region is known as the warmest region with a lot of rain and also a lot of wind. The soil in this region is deep and fertile around the trees, allowing them to grow large and robust, but shallower in other areas, supporting grasses better than tree saplings. This variation in soil depth and quality naturally limits where trees can establish themselves. The region is also pron to periodic fires that are essential to the landscape of the Muncor Coast. The fires can be caused by lightingstrikes, human activity and in some rare cases, droughts. These fires burn grasses but not seriously harm mature, well-established trees with thicker bark that can resist fire damage. The grasses would then quickly re-sprout, preventing tree saplings from taking over preventing forests from forming.

The Hivic mountains

Hivic mountains landscape

In the Hivic mountains are main highlands of Nestor Mayor. These mountains divide the island in a nothern and southern region. The southern part of the region is warmer and wetter then the norther region with the south western winds. These mountains in some regions are just tall enough to hold permanent snow with 3 tips reaching a little over 5000 meters however these tips are not very large. The average height of most mountains 1000 meters with peek regions average 1750 meters. The region has a large part covered in Boreal trees with the Alpine tundra in the peek regions. There is one gap Hivik mountains that is used as a passage between the region of Anibar the the Juncor state. The Hivic are known for thier spiky nature what mean that traveling through these regions is rouch and caused a large divide between the north and south of Nestor Mayor. The Hivik mountains are believed to have been much taller but due to the rough wind erosion the mountains were shaped into spiky moantains. These mountains are mostly seen in the western region of the mountain region.

Mountain Topography and Erosion

The spiky nature of the mountains, especially prominent in the western region, is caused by a history of intense erosion, possibly due to a combination of wind, temperature fluctuations, and the freeze-thaw cycle. Such erosion would wear down the mountains over time, sharpening their peaks and making the landscape rugged and difficult to traverse. The spiky nature of the mountains in the western region in particular is caused partially by exposure to the prevailing weather systems but mainly a difference in rock composition that makes these mountains more susceptible to erosion, shaping them into the dramatic forms they exhibit today. The rough terrain of the Hivic mountains acts as a natural barrier between the northern and southern regions of the island. This division would resulted in distinct ecological and cultural differences between the two sides due to the relative difficulty of movement and communication across the spiky mountain passes. The Anor gap, used as a passage between Anibar and the Juncor state, is of significant geographical and historical importance. This pass is be located in an area where the mountains are not as high has carved a more accessible route. It is a critical trade route and strategic point, as well as a ecological corridor for species migration. This region is also the place were the North-South line is traveling through. The Hivic mountains were once much taller or at least wider and have been reduced by wind erosion caused by a long geological history. The current spiky appearance is also thought to be the result of other erosional forces, such as glacial carving during past ice ages, which tend to leave behind sharply pointed peaks and ridges but this has not been proved yet.

Anibar

Anibar Coast (from west to east)

The Anibar region is more then the state of Anibar, it is the entire nothern coast of Nestor Mayor. Since Anibar is shielded from the southern wet winds by the Hivic mountains, it has a rain shadow effect, making it drier. The colder aspect are due to it facing the northern latitudes and having cold currents offshore. This kind of climate would typically support different types of vegetation and wildlife from south of the Hivic mountains. The dryness suggests that the region may have a landscape composed of open fields, scrublands, or forests with hardy coniferous trees adapted to less precipitation. The further west you go in the Anibar coast nutrients in the groud are less dominant due to less rainfall, the plant life here is specialized to survive in these conditions, with smaller leaves or needles to minimize water loss. Being a northern coastal region, Anibar features rugged cliffs and pebbly beaches.

Ertilan Peninsula

The Ertilan Peninsula

This region is dominated by a Maritime Climate which is stable. This region is also home to the most amount of people because it includes the bay area and states like Erincor, Dandagar, Nider, Giondo and Rinnar. The region has no large mountains and soil is wet and good for argiculture. The wildlife in this region also has more kinds of animals and most notably, birds. Because this region's weather is controlled by the sea, the weather is stable but also can produce storms and morning mist is quite common.

Government

Political structure

The political culture of the Nestoric Herdom is decentralised, with each state having their own lord. These kings have autonomy over their state but they have to comply with national law. The nation law is voted for by the lower house of parliament which has 864 seats. The national parliament is the main drive towards national unity and makes sure the lords work together. The National parliament has 864 seats which are distributed according to population and voted for by the people. The upper house of each state is the royal house with a lord as head of state. These lords have veto power over any law that the lower house passes unless it is a national law. All the lower houses together form the national lower house who are often grouped in national parties, all the upper houses (royal elite) together are the upper house of the nation. The upper house votes for a king who will become the leader once the previous leader dies, resigns or is ''promoted''. There are two or three elected royals with the title, Elderly King, King and Aire. The king has to ''promote'' to elderly king at the age of 70 and give the title of king to the next in line. Currently there are royals occupying all three titles, Polic, Nisson and Merc.

Legislative

The National parliament (house of parliament) has 864 members which are elected by each state. Each lord gets 1 seat in the National parliament for every 70 thousand people under their jurisdiction. The biggest lord have over 100 seats in the National parliament each and smaller lords only have around 50. All the laws that the National parliament creates has to go through the king, who can VETO any law the National parliament wants to pass. The Nestoric Rixal Istronix (NRI - Nestoric Royal Institution) stays in contact with all people in order to see if the people agree. If the Nestoric Rixal Istronix thinks that people disagree, the institution will organise a national referendum. The Nestoric Rixal Istronix is also checking what the monarch is doing and they check the approval rating king. The Nestoric Rixal Istronix also creates the Rixal Newspaper which keeps the population informed about the king's actions. The Nestoric Rixal Istronix is an independent institution not connected to the house of monarch.

Basic lord political system

Each lord has their own political system, one that best suits their culture and location. But by law each lord has four branches. Each lord has their own Fornex (Faction) parliament (legislative), the Rejuds (the judges), ministers (executive) and the journalists. The faction parliament votes on laws proposed by the ministers. If a law is passed the minister puts the law in action but the journalists and the faction parliament have the right to check if ministers are doing a good job. The journalists do not only check the ministers but they check all branches and communicate any problems to the people.

Subdivisions

The nation is split into 13 lords with 11 on Nestor Major, 1 on Nestor Minor and 1 on Spal. Each of these lords has their own system for how they want to split their own state. Each state has to stay loyal to the king and not doing so will make the state look like a traitor. If a state is not loyal they have broken the chivalry code which makes them look bad. If a lord breaks the code, they would lose people rather quickly because the people are afraid that more of the code will be broken. A no go for the Nestoric Herdom following Nestic Erecund.

Foreign relations

The islands are located on a path between Anaria, Altaia and D’Runia. Even though nations can avoid the international waters of Nestor, this location makes the nation a trade hub between the three continents. Nestoric lords prefer to be able to trade with every nation on international trade but the national parliament wants to minimize certain political ideologies to enter Nestor, most notably Orderism.

Military

The Nestorian Armed Forces consist of five branches: the Nestorian Air Force, the Nestorian Navy, the Nestorian Marine, the Nestorian Special Forces and the Nestorian Militia. The Nestorian army is devided into two main groups, the national army and the factional army. The national army focuses on spearheads, firepower and shock. The national army has the majority of the Air Force, Navy, Marines and Special Forces under their control due to their heavy use of expensiv equipment. The factional army is a light fast moving infantry army which a lot of men in the country are a part of. The Factional army can grow to a maximum size of close to 25% of the population. This number of soldiers has not happened before but the nation has law in place to mobilize 10 million extra soldiers between 18 and 65 in a few weeks in an emergency. The active military personal under direct command of the Nestorian minister of defense is small but extremely well trained, quality over quantity.

The minister of defense is (XXX) who is in charge of the national military and the department of mission control. The department of mission control does not have any combat personell but they hire PMC from the factional army. The mission control department gives mission with details which PMC can follow. The mission have a set of rules which the PMC's have to follow, especially when they are going international. The factional militaries have their own councils of leaders known has the Generals Counsel. These generals often have national competition against eachother in two teams of between one and three generals. This improves cooperation and skill for the generals. These competitions are seen as the main sport in the country.

Demographics

Gender

Nestor is a nation known for its traditional values that have been in place since the time of warring lords. Gender roles are an important part of the culture here, although they are not enforced by laws. People of any gender are free to pursue the careers they desire. While some professions might have fewer men or women, this is not seen as a problem as long as the person is skilled. Criticizing such choices is seen as an attack on the hierarchy of competence, which is not accepted in Nestor.

The influence of the warring lords era, despite its distance in the past, still greatly impacts gender roles. During that time, women outnumbered men, which allowed women to expand their roles beyond traditional boundaries. Previously, women were primarily expected to support the population growth, but this era enabled them to contribute to the workforce. Before this period, women were limited to childcare and were absent from education and other professions. However, during the warring lords era, women became dominant in fields like education, healthcare, and social work.

Men, on the other hand, tended to gravitate towards jobs involving physical materials, like construction, science, engineering, and the military. This inclination was supported by research conducted by King Bulgun of Giondo on gender preferences. These gender roles are not only evident in the workplace but also extend to the home. Women typically take on childcare responsibilities at home or work part-time if they don't have children. Men, regardless of whether they have children, typically work full-time. It's important to note that not all households adhere to this system, but it is the most common arrangement.

Ethnic groups

In Nestor, the dominant ethnic group is the Nestors themselves, but there are also other ethnic groups living within the country's borders. The nation engages in significant trade with the regions of D’runia, Anaria, and Atlaia, which leads to people from these places coming to live in Nestor. Integration is highly valued in Nestor due to the importance of preserving their traditional culture. The number of ethnic Nestorians leaving the country is low because of their strong cultural ties to the nation.

Languages

The Nestorian language is an old language with it being likely thousands of years old. The Nestorian language has evolve to be more precise and descriptive, compensating for the less use of the mind's eye. People rely heavily on verbal communication, detailed descriptions, and tactile or physical representations of concepts. Even though there are just an average amount of blind people in Nestor, sign language is very popular also very old. The sign language helps the people communicate easier because it gives an extra layer of dept to the description to what the people say. Sign language also helps which communication is places where it is loud, the person has to be quiet or the concept is easier to sign than to say. The verbal and the sign language are often used beside each other for fast and clear communication. The sign language is an important part of Nestorian culture. In addition to help with more full communication with using sound and gestures to talk, also blind people feel more inclusive in Nestor because sign language is seen as part of the Nestorian language instead of a separate language. Sign language is also very popular during story telling to give the listener more immersion.

There are two ways of pronoucing the words, the flat version and the dynamic version. Many words end with a rougher -or, -on, -ar, -er, -in or -ic making the laugauge sometimes appear agressive. In the rough version of the language the full letter are pronouced but in the dynamic version the last letter that is causes the word to close like -r -n or -c are not pronouced and the vowel is extended. The way it is written is not changed however.

Key garments, such as tactical jackets and cargo pants, are crafted with functionality in mind, boasting ample pockets for essentials and tools. Predominantly fashioned from black wool, these garments symbolize strength, safeguarding wearers with an aura of chivalric virtues.

Women's Fashion

Drawing inspiration from the grace and elegance of maidens and princesses from the past, Nestorian women's fashion radiates an ethereal allure. Skirts and dresses reign supreme, offering a nod to tradition while accommodating modern sensibilities. Adaptations for climate variance include layered ensembles with woolen textures and longer lengths for cooler seasons. Outerwear, such as cloaks and tailored coats, exude sophistication in light hues, epitomizing the delicate femininity cherished in Nestorian culture. Shorts under dresses are normal but not mandatory due to privacy concerns and to avoid lurkers.

Dress code

In Nestor there is a dresscode to explain what type of attire is expected in certain places. This code has 7 levels going from very strict at level 1 and to no rules at level 7. Most places are either level 1, 2 or 3 (92%) and level 3 is most common. On the entrance of a place there is usually a number telling the visitor the minimal dresscode. This is done to protect people from images they don't want to see and going over the dresscode limit could cause a fine or in severse cases, a prison sentence. Not all places have a dresscode number at the entrance, in those causes, level 3 can be assumed. For each level there is a simple guide for what body parts have to be covered up and for level 6 rules about the behavior. In places that are close to places with level 4, 5 or 6, a type of bath robe is offered which gives the person a level 3. This dress code system is also used at posters for movies and magazines to indicate if certain images are shown in the picture as way of warning and informing people. In some rare cases people can wear a higher level attire than the dress codes allows to allow freedom of expression, however, more then 1 level higher then allowed is often not going to pass among the public and the person is requested to leave.

Cinema

The nation saw its first moving picture in 7611 after importing the technology from Anaria. The first moving picture depicted the royal family at the time showing the balcony of the royal palace in Giondo. The moving picture was created by Nigol Verozan who wanted to test the technology in Nestor. When the proof of concept was done by Nigol Verozan, the National Bureau of Film (NBF) was created. The first true Nestorian movie hit was in 7679 with the start of Erinica, a series of movies about the old Erinic Empire. The series currently has five main movies and a few other lower production movies.

Media

The personal television is not a large part of Nestorian culture which meant that the personal television got into the home of Nestorian people relatively late. The news till this day is mostly provided in newspaper and reported via the radio. Every hour of the day, the radio will report the latest news and often more then once an hour. Radio still plays a large role in Nestorian but the television is entering people's home at increasing every since the 7670s when Nestorian television started to produce a larger array of content for television. The Nestorian government heavily controls the programs that is shown on Nestorian Television in order to preserve its traditions.

Pornography

Pornography is heavily regulated and there is a high degree of censorship for international pornography. Pornography as a whole is not banned but certain acts (copulation) can not be shown in pictures and especially not in video form. The pornography that is produced in the nation is only created by professionals in art institutions. Most of the explicit content created in Nestor is nudity.

Cuisine

The cuisine of Nestor has developed through the centuries with the roots many centuries ago. The Nestoric cuisine takes heavy influence from the old Erinic Empire. Significant changes happened to the Nestoric Cuisine with the introduction of potatoes and tomatoes from distant regions now important to the Nestoric cuisine in the 7300s. Nestoric cuisine is diverse, and each lord has its one unique special dish. In modern times, all dishes are combined into the Nestoric cuisine known all over the world.

The Nestoric cuisine basis is made of pasta, fish, fruit, and vegetables and characterized by its extreme simplicity and variety. Most dishes in Nestoric cuisine have no more then 10 ingredients total, sometimes only 4 ingredients. Nestoric cooks rely chiefly on the quality of the ingredients rather than on elaborate preparation. The cooks aim at a good balance between the taste and the texture of food. Even though Nestoric food is often blunt, the food still is seen as good tasting food.

The Nestoric Cuisine relies on traditional Nestoric products. Eggs, chicken cold cut, wine are central to Nestoric cuisine alongside with pasta and Nesti, a wheat-based dough topped with tomatoes and cheese. Desserts have a long tradition of merging local flavours such fruits, eggs, and vanilla.

The meal structure of Nestor is based around the dinner period. Dinner is always done right before sleeping and the people fill themselves up as much as they can. After a human has eaten, humans get less active, a perfect time to take a rest or sleep. The breakfast is often simple and based around liquids, sometimes just water filled with supplements, fruits, or other blended foods. Lunch is also very light but not as light as breakfast. The people eat small snacks when they are very hungry, and the productivity is lowered. There is a clear difference between having an empty stomach and being hungry.

Architecture

Early Wood Housing

Houses in Nestor historically have been built of wood and planks perpendicular to the road. The longhouses were made this way to decrease the need to cut logs in smaller parts. The smaller sides of the house had the front door and the opening for windows. For the local population this type of housing stayed popular until the 7100s. The houses were small but still lived in by on average six people and the larger house had up to 20 people living in them.

Conversion to Stone Construction (7100s)

In the 7100s the rich started building their houses of stone. Because stones were much heavier than wood, only the rich could afford stone housing. The stone houses also had the freedom to deviate from the elongated shape. In the cities where space was getting harder to come by, the houses were made of stone in the traditional elongated shape. For a very long time there were no regulations on how the buildings should be built.

Problems of Nestorian Cities (7100-7400)

During the age of the warring lords, many people fled to big cities to be protected by their grand city walls. The demand for housing in most cities skyrocketed which meant that the streets got very thin, just wide enough for one horse cart and one person on either side (3.5 metres). Also private gardens were built up and the buildings went from an average of two floors up to four or sometimes even six. Near the walls, the people built primitive flats leaning against the thick city walls. The cities within the walls were almost seen as one large building with an intense density.

Urban Reformation (74xx-7550)

Disease spread in the cities because of its density and lack of rules. The King of Giondo 74xx introduced a set of rules to decrease the diseases in the cities. Waterworks were introduced, canals were added to decrease the flooding and simple building standards were set in laws. The local governments also began to buy up land to build community buildings like temples, markets and theatres. The living conditions in the city improved in Giondo therefore many other cities in the region started to the same.

Many people in the super dense city centres came accustomed to the architecture of the very dense cities. The government therefore did not demolish buildings in many city centres but large renovation projects were started instead to make sure the building followed the continuously improving and evolving laws.

The architecture outside the city walls made sure there was enough room for streets, parks and other necessities. The government set up a max building to open ears ratio to make sure every corridor and street received enough natural light.

Industrialization (7550 - 7650)

Before industrialization every building was built one by one but after industrialization the Nestorian government needed to build millions of homes very fast because the population was exploding, especially in the cities. During the industrialization three systems were introduced, the Ricar system, the Erinic system and the Balanced system. The Ricar system was mass production and dropping laws to make compact housing cheaper. This caused the creation of the Ricarian layered city, Mulcator and Sacun. The Erinic system focussed on pure traditional construction with the benefits of industrialization improving the speed and convenience of building. Examples of this type of city can be found on the south eastern coast of Nestor Mayor. The Balanced system was a system that used mass production and factories to produce traditional buildings, often with whole city blocks in one go. The cities in Giondo, Nider and XXX.

Modern Architecture (7650 - 7690)

To accompany the fast constant population growth and the growing economy the building of more high rises is becoming more popular. The Ricar urban development system which was already well tested by this point started to be constructed in all major cities in the local style. But most cities did not construct or are not constructing large Ricarian style urban plans.
