The Triarchy (Parnethian: Τρίαρχίᾱ; tr. Triarchia) is a trilateral maritime, security, diplomatic and political partnership and intergovernmental forum between Ithrien, Kamura and Livaria. While the three Triarchs are located in three different regions, the Phasian, Shangti and Settant-Stolvic respectively, their regional and global interests often align; the Triarchy is therefore organised around shared values of island nations, including maritime security, global free trade and capitalism, with a joint commitment to enforcing ICoN resolutions and upholding the Open Seas Security Organization. The three Triarchs represent some of the largest economies and markets in the world, being respectively the second- (Kamura), third- (Livaria) and seventh-largest (Ithrien) economies in the world. The grouping also represents the interests of a over 452 million citizens.
The Triarchy originated as an ad hoc trilateral gathering of security and later political officials from the respective nations in the late 76th century in the run-up to and during the Wolgos Scourge (7598-7603). The first major combined Triarchy operation saw Ithrien, Kamura and Livaria, amongst the three most preeminent naval powers, coordinating a response to the fall of The Bind and facilitating the relocation of the Wolgos during the Second Wolgos Trek. Since then, the Triarchy has become a more formal intergovernmental forum and partnership where the three nations discuss and coordinate solutions to major global issues, especially in the areas of trade, security, economics, and maritime issues.
The Triarchy finally transitioned into a formal security partnership with the signing of the Trilateral Security Agreement (often referred to as the TAS from its Parnethian name, Τριμερής Ασφάλεια Συμφωνία; tr. Trimeris Asphaleia Symphonia) in 7634 at the closing stages of the First Coalition War (7632-7634). The Triarchy's chief mission in the aftermath of the signing of the TAS was enforcing the newly agreed Open Seas Security Organization, of which the Triarchs were along the original principal international backers.
The original ad hoc nature of the Triarchy saw the three countries come together to respond to specific international issues and events, and while this does still happen, the Triarchy also hold regular yearly summits. These summits are hosted on a rotational basis, with the last Triarchy Summit held in Andrushivka, Livaria on 12-14 Suna 7689. The presiding host for 7690 is Kamura.
