Jiyuu no tame ni tatakau (じゆう の ため に たたかう, Fighting for freedom) is the debut album by the band Tenji Sa Reta from Sokoku. It was released 7690 on the Sokokan label Jiyūna tori as a 12 song album on 12" vinyl and cassette. Later that year, a CD version was released with 15 songs.

Track list

The opening track is an unusually long hard rock song with an instrumental intro over one minute long. Guest vocalist Murasaki Yu only delivers the "do you like what you see" lyrics at the end of the chorus. All other songs are trimmed down to the bare minimum, often only 2:20 to 3:10 minutes long, but still including bridge and solo. "Tidak ada jawaban" is the only song in Bahasa Sokoku on the album, a song with its roots in the 7670's and partially a cover song from a soul keeper group from the A Kaiten congregation. "Kura e" is based on the Mellanhand Orkanan instrumental hymn "20" from Fjällsta Stift and describes Tenji Sa Reta's visit to Vittmark earlier that year where they were invited to play at Exemplar Chika Mirei's inclusion in the registry at Herrkulla. The screamed vocals by Ota Yuu represent the mental challenges vocalist Aya had to endure during the trip.

Reception, reviews and rewards

Upon release, the album got mixed reviews. The newspaper Taumakan Pewartan called Tenji Sa Reta "(...) not at all the punk rock band it wants us to believe. The songs are as confusing as the language it is being sung in." Kyusigai music magazine Telinga Kamu however praised the contrast between the lyrics and the music: "Tracks like "Hi shokubun" and "Dare demonai" are about the desperate loneliness in life, drenched in the most cheerful and uplifting alt rock possible. "Ashita" is a tribute to procrastination as an art form, packaged as an up-tempo smack in the face." Even the weekly publication Berewan Mingguan praised the variation: "Even without their first single, the ultimate party song "Breako", or their latest "Helreich" in industrial metal, the album presents 12 tracks in 12 subgenres, of which 11 could be released as a single."

One needs to take into account that Tenji Sa Reta is mainly singing in Kakuri, with some courtesy Bahasa Sokoku. It was the first time that a Kakuri language album reached the #1 spot in the domestic sales charts.

The album was also released in Arvor, Chaska, Hallis, Kamura and Vittmark, with mixed results.
