Points of Interest
Cherenovsk is home to several points of interest which have made it well-known, not just across the republic or D'Runia, but worldwide.
Aleksandr Gardens
The Aleksandr Gardens (Arvorian: Александровский сад, Hallisised: Aleksandrovskiy sad) also known as the National Botanical Gardens (Arvorian: Национальный ботанический сад, Hallisised: Natsional'nyy botanicheskiy sad, abbreviated Нбс or NBS) are the largest park and greenspace in the capital city. Near the heart of the Gardens, surrounded by a ring of pathways and fountains, are the hot houses, where more exotic flowers and plants are maintained year-round. Known for their lush greenery, extensive and well-maintained flower beds and decoratively sculpted shrubbery displays, the NBS is a hub of outdoors and social activity.
The presidential residence, Avilov House, sits at the northern end of the gardens, on a hill overlooking them.
Constitution Square
Friendship of Peoples Park
Located due north of the TBD and due south of the VDNKh, the third-largest park in the city (after the Aleksandr Gardens and the VDNKh) is a large, open-air greenspace noted for its low rolling hills, extensive trees and meticulously maintained flowers and shrubbery. The park contains over five kilometres of walking paths, along which one can find vendors selling snacks and beverages. The park is dotted by numerous statues celebrating important moments in the nation's relationship with the international community. One of the most prominent of these is a statue of Dynast Emperor Cephorus IV of Auresia shaking hands with President Valentin Kolesnikov, commemorating the monarch's state visit in 7577 RH, noteworthy as the first official visit to the new nation by a foreign head of state.
GUM
The Main Universal Store (Arvorian: Главный универсальный магазин, Hallisised: Glavnyy universal'nyy magazin, also known as Гум or GUM) is the largest shopping centre in the city and the oldest and largest such facility in the nation. Established in 7533 RH, during the Commonwealth days, it started out as a trading exchange for merchants to sell their wares in a common location accessible to everyone around. As time went on, many shoppes became permanently established as the complex grew into what it is now. By 7600 RH, GUMs modeled after the one in the capital had been established in all of the major cities nationwide. As of 1.1.7690 RH, GUM encompasses 91 separate shoppes, 16 restaurants, and five coffee shoppes. It is a popular shopping destination for locals as well as tourists.
