Central Directorate of State Security
The Central Directorate of State Security (Arvorian: Главное управление государственной безопасности, Hallisised: Glavnoe upravlenie gosudarstvennoy bezopasnosti), commonly referred to by its acronym ГУГБ (GUGB), is the main security agency of the Arvorian Democratic Republic. It is attached to the Council of Ministers and its leadership answers to the premier through the minister of internal affairs. It carries out a wide range of duties, including domestic intelligence and security, foreign intelligence, and counterintelligence.
The GUGB is headquartered in the Gorbunov Building in the Domodedovo district of Cherenovsk.
Structure
Leadership
The GUGB is lead at its pinnacle by its director general. They are assisted in their duties by three deputy director generals. All four officials are appointed by the premier with the approval of the Congress of People's Deputies. The entire organisation is managed by its Collegium, which conists of the director general, deputy director generals, and directorate chiefs. They meet regularly to discuss important matters, set key policy, and also in times of emergency to engage with the political leadership in formulating responses to events of national concern or interest.

- 1st Main Department - Foreign Operations, responsible for foreign intelligence gathering and espionage.
- 2nd Main Department - Counterintelligence, responsible for domestic security operations.
- 3rd Main Department - Military Operations, responsible for defence intelligence and counterintelligence; works in conjunction with the AFA.
- 4th Department - Counterintelligence Support for Transport and Communications, responsible for protection of critical transportation and communications infrastructure.
- 5th Department - Counterintelligence Support for the Economy, responsible for protection of vital economic and industrial assets.
- 6th Department - Adjustments, responsible for extremely high-level security operations.
- 7th Department - Cryptography, responsible for code analysis and code breaking.
- 8th Department - Protection of High-Level Officials, responsible for round-the-clock personal security for senior State officials and their families.
- 9th Department - Inventory and Archive, responsible for supply and archiving, maintaining GUGB records.
- 10th Department - Government Communications, responsible for ensuring the security of the State and military communications networks.
- 11th Department - ELINT, responsible for signals intelligence.
- 12th Department - Special Reconnaissance, responsible for deep infiltration and observation operations.
- 13th Department - Analysis, responsible for study and review of collected intelligence and information sources.
- 14th Department - Investigations, responsible for internal inquiry into State concerns.
- 15th Department - Operational Technical Services, responsible for research and development of tools and assets for GUGB usage. Works in concert with TsIIR regularly.
- 16th Department - Protection of the Constitutional Order, responsible for the defence of vital assets of State business and function.
