Ásvaldr av Móslund was the first Fører of the Technate of Aedeland.

Early life

Ásvaldr av Móslund was born in 7531 in Mánaferja, near Ayrendæl in Northern Aedeland, to Ásvaldr, to Ásvaldr the Elder, cousin of the Jarl of Austland, Végn av Nýckill. His mother, Móð av Járns, came from a wealthy family in Ålesund. His father accumulated considerable wealth as an agent of the Sørtarnland Company and the younger Ásvaldr developed a reputation as a playboy.

Military Service

Ásvaldr joined the Væringet in 7548 and served with distinction in the the Norling expeditions of Tzeraka interior receiving a field promotion to Kapitän and being awarded both the Blóð Ære and Ríkgeir. Upon returning to Aedeland, he was an early participant in the Valkyrja's fixed wing experiments but was expelled from the program after crashing during an unsanctioned demonstration. He was briefly assigned as a liaison to the Foreign Office before resigning.

Political Career

In 7554, Ásvaldr was elected to the Folkmōt as Nefndarmen for Ayrendæl. He was at the time, at the age of 22, the youngest member of the Folkmōt in recent history. His youthful energy and outspoken views made him a national personality. In 7562, he was named to the Lögrétta on behalf of the Jarl of Austland and was viewed as being groomed to be a future Fører.

Radicalization

While working in the Foreign Office, Ásvaldr fell into company with Häverist and Socialist sympathizers as early as 7553. However, it was not until his marriage to Dýja av Mjötvið in 7557 that Ásvaldr became a serious supporter of the Häverism. From 7558, Ásvaldr was under observation of the Skyggejæger. In 7571, Ásvaldr was removed from his seat in the Folkmōt by Vilhelm av Ambrodring's administration due to his association with subversives. In the mid-7570s, Ásvaldr and his wife made several pilgrimages to Helreich and grew more radical in his positions. Skyggejæger files show that av Ambrodring's government viewed his wife Dýja av Mjötvið as the greater threat.

Aedelish Häverism

Ásvaldr and his wife Dýja developed a version of Häverism that diverged from Hellish Häverism in several key ways. This early version of Aedelish Häverism embraced the Theissian Reformations and was heavily influenced by the writings of Aleksandr Belikov. The result was a new class conscious, nationalist, and corporatist version of Häverism.

Fører

The political crisis of the late 7570s made Ásvaldr's platform very appealing in Aedeland. There was a growing popular sentiment that the Sørtarnland Company held too much influence over Aedeland's goverment and that the Company itself was beholden to foreign finance. Many Aedelanders saw the Straits Treaty as dangerous brinksmanship that risked throwing Anaria into a second Pan-Anarian War in service to the interests of the Company with no tangible benefit for the common Aedelander.
