The Thuaid Sea, also known as the Western Sea, is a body of water located in Anaria. It is surrounded by the Anarian islands of Thultannia and Stoldavia to the south and east, and by Jǫrveh to the north. The sea is connected to the Sinian Sea to the west.

Geographic Connections

  • Straits of Andlat: Connect the Thuaid Sea to the Dlreukv Sea.
  • Áland Straits of Valir and the Zengten: Connect the sea to the waters surrounding the Cheltic Isles.
  • The Kells: The southeastern part of the sea, located between Heinhafan and Halland, is known as The Kells.

Etymology

The sea is referred to as the Thuaid Sea in much of Thultannia, derived from the Camberian word thuaidh, meaning "north." In Aedeland and other parts of Stoldavia, it is called the Western Sea (Vestsjøen in Æþelish) because of its relative geographical location to these regions. Historically, it was also known as the Sea of Thultannia by mariners, a name chosen to avoid confusion with other "North Seas" or "West Seas" around the world.
