Queen Iduna of Vittmark was the fourth monarch and third queen of the federal kingdom of Vittmark. She was the successor of her half sister Queen Tovemor and succeeded by her second son King Eilert.
Early life
Iduna was born in Östervallen in september 7571 as the oldest child of Queen Anna of Vittmark and Palne Kristersson av Blåkulla herr till Fjällsta. She was the first monarch of Vittmark born in Vittmark.
During her youth, neither Iduna nor her younger brothers Asvard (b.7574) and Kolgard (b.7580) were prepared specifically for the role as future monarch. It was their mother's wish that they could grow up in relative freedom, assuming that one of them would be interested in the task ahead. Given the fact that her father had been married before, she had two older half sisters, apart from Tovemor also Sanna (b.7555).
In 7878 Queen Anna took along the 7 year old Iduna on a tour of all Vittmarker member states of the time, including overseas Fisks. This so-called Idunrunda is still done as an initiation ritual for newly crowned monarchs, newly appointe crown princes and princesses as well as the oldest children of reigning monarchs at age 7.
In 7589 Iduna starts college education at the renowned XX university in Darcole, Anisora. In 7592 she receives a bachelor's degree in political science and international relations. She then moves to Cedelphia, Auresia to continue her education in Arts History, in which she receives a degree in 7594. She then moves back to Vittmark and enrolls Siutton University in Talpå where she follows courses in Orkanan ethics and Natural Resource Management, resulting in a masters degree in 7597. Then she moves back to Östervallen after an offer for a doctorate at Östervallen University. It is however speculated that this move partially was because of her younger half sister Chika Mirei starting education in Vittmark at around the same time, so she could mentor her.
Crown Princess of Vittmark
Because her step sister Tovemor was appointed crown princess already before her birth, Iduna received the title of crown princess relatively late in 7604 at age 33, when Tovemor became queen. At that time she already had 2 of her 3 children.
Tovemor abdicated rather quickly in 7611, making this the second shortest time someone carried the title of crown prince(ss) after her uncle Thomas Karlsson av Kulla who was killed after 3 years.
Queen of Vittmark
Iduna inherited a federal kingdom divided by the outcome of a much discussed state reform carried out by her predecessor. Given the fact she was new in this role, she was able to re-unite the country rather quickly. She used the foreign threat of Häverism to unite the Vittmarkers, letting them focus on their common identity and domestic production. Combining her knowledge about the communicative possibilities of works of art with political science, she was very effective in applying her soft power, both on the people of Vittmark as well as the politicians she had to work with.
She tended to spend at least one month a year (but usually not a consecutive period) at the Hallborg palace in Austland West Hagen, where a large part of her time went to mastering the Aedelish language.
Queen Iduna had a particular interest in the emerging economies on the other side of Gotha, like Kamura and Sokoku. Her personal relation with the founding mother of Sokoku, Chika Mirei, paved the way for many successfull state visits with a heavy program on economic development and mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and technology.
Queen of Kulla
After her abdication in 76XX, she received the title Queen of Kulla. She retreated at the Knutskulla mansion, the newest mansion in Kulla.
