Impport

Impport, also known as "Port Imperial," is a major city and metropolitan area located on the northeastern shores of Barceto Prefecture, just ten miles south of the eastern gates of the Hattaro Straits in Auresia. This city is a prosperous trade center, home to the Imperial Maritime Institute, the Imperial Exchange, and one of the largest ports in the world. It holds a significant place in Auresian economic activity and is one of the world's most prominent economic centers. Impport is often referred to by the nicknames "City that Never Sleeps," "City of Ships," and "City of the Titan."

History

In its pre-empire days, before becoming a port city at the heart of the new empire, Impport was known as "Solanos Mor." It served as the largest port and capital city of the Kingdom of Portoga. During that time, the city flourished as a bustling hub for shipping, commerce, trade, and exchange. Upon the formation of the Auresian Empire, the capital shifted to Cedelphia, and the former capital cities of the three kingdoms, including Solanos Mor, became major cities within the empire, now named Impport or "Port Imperial."

During the pan-Anarian war, Impport played a significant role, enduring decades of urban guerrilla warfare. Nearly 200,000 Auresians lost their lives in the effort to dislodge the forces of Helreich from the city. The Titan statue, an emblematic monument, stood strong amidst the conflict. As of the current date, the Impport metropolitan area boasts a population of over 6.4 million.

Sites of Interest

Impport stands as a testament to Auresian business acumen, free market prosperity, and vibrant energy. This sprawling metropolis boasts diverse architecture, rich history, and countless opportunities. It is a popular destination for foreign tourists seeking high-end shopping, exotic foods, and unique goods.

Impport Harbor, Netaluma Bridge, the Grand Fortress, and Impport Stock Exchange are among the city's notable sites of interest.

Government

Impport, as a major city, is governed by a Praetor appointed by prefectural authorities with the approval of the provincial exarch. The city is supported by a council of sixteen individuals, two per district, who specialize in city oversight for maintenance and services. Impport is part of the imperial courts system.

Utilities

As the empire's largest city, Impport's maintenance is facilitated by an extensive network of maintenance corridors for electricity, water, heat, and gas. Underwater drainage tunnels, pumps, and diversions ensure safety against flooding.

Transportation

Transportation within Impport's districts involves vehicles, horse and buggy, trolley cars, and bicycles. For longer distances, the Mezenti Skyport provides air travel to major cities within and beyond the empire. The Central Imperial Station handles both travelers and cargo through an extensive rail yard.

Defenses

Impport falls under the territorial responsibilities of the second order of the Auresian Sovereign Armed Forces due to its role as the exterior gate of the Hattaro Straits. The Transit Militia safeguards the city's port, metro, and rail stations, while Task Forces I and II of the Imperial Auresian Navy are berthed at the Impport Naval Yard. The Grand Fortress, a symbol of Auresian dominance, was damaged during the Pan-Anarian War but has since been repaired and upgraded to include modern defense
