Henrik av Rygír is the third dynastic Fører of Aedeland.

Early life

Henrik was born at Áræði in 7601. His father Ásgeirr was the first Fører of the New Republic. His mother was Guinevere Oskoreia. Henrik was born into a period of turmoil at the end of the Aedelish Technate. He was twelve when his father was elected Fører.

Military service

Henrik is the only Aedelish Fører to not serve the Strykene. Instead he performed his national service in the Styðja during the expansive public works projects of his father. In the Styðja, Henrik proved a gifted administrator and rose through its ranks to command the service. He was named Lord Secretary of the Home Office upon the ascension of the brother and held that position for forty-five years.

Fører

Named Fører at the age of seventy-four after the death of his brother Aedalberht in 7675. His eleven year leadership was largely a continuation of the stability of his predecessor.

Personal life

Marriage and children

Henrik, similar to his brother Aedalberht, remained a bachelor for much of his life. As a young man, he attempted to marry Katrianna Beorhthelm but was refused. It was not until the age thirty-three that he married Marlitt Hárdūne. Together they had two daughters, Ceorl and Skrá, and a son Arnsteinn. Ceorl proved to be the most politically astute of Henrik's children and served with distinction in several leading positions within his administration including Lord Secretary of the Foreign Office.
