Rakanja Sadaka (born March 29, 7639) is a Negasi politician and the 8th Grand Chief of the Negasi Republic since January 1, 7986. As such, he serves as the country's head of state. He was elected grand chief in 7685 and is standing for re-election in 7690. He is a member of the Prosperity Party. Although he does not hold any official position in the Prosperity Party, he is considered the party's preeminent leader.

Background

Sadaka is an ethnic Balisubri born in Kofoni, western Negasi, to a prominent tribal family. He attended the local primary school before his formative years at Fadi Academy, an upscale secondary school. After completing service with the National Guard, Sadaka went on to earn a Bachelor Arts in Political Science from the Negasi Republic University.

Following university, Sadaka gained employment as an analyst with the Directorate General of Intelligence in the Ministry of National Defense. His talents saw to him rising to become director general by 7681.

Political career

Sadaka's political career began in 7682 when he joined the Prosperity Party. As a government official, he shouldn't have been able to stand for election as grand chief in 7685. Due to a technicality in the Ethnicities Act of 7653, the Superior Court of Negasi ruled Sadaka could stand and he won the election with 53.45% of the vote. As a result, Sadaka became grand chief and head of state on January first, 7686, and holds the position at least through the next election in 7690.

Allegations of corruption

Many prominent Negasi are subject to claims of corruption and Sadaka is no exception to this. He, obviously, denies such allegations. Nonetheless, the claims appear to be hindering Sadaka's candidacy in the 7690 election, even though he still appears to hold the lead in recent polls.
