Fører

The Fører is the head of state and government of the Imperial Republic of Aedeland. The word Fører means leader in Aedelish and Hellish title Anführer. Elsewhere in the Aldsesphere, the word retains a more general meaning. The Fører’s powers are defined and limited by the Aedelant Constitution (Aedelant Dom) and are most similar to those of a prime minister.

Powers of the Fører

The Fører has several powers, including:

• Controlling the agenda and dissolving Aedeland's law-making body, the Lögregatta.
• Appointing and consulting ministers and other public officers.
• Commanding the Aedelish military.
• Granting reprieves and pardons.

Historically the Fører’s powers are limited by a five-year term limit and the review of the Fólkmdót. Under the Häverist Technate, the constitution was revoked and term limits were done away with. Upon restoration of the Førers, term limits were not reimposed.
