The Negasi highlands is a large geographical region located in northwestern and north central Negasi. Situated entirely on the Tharnan continent, the region lies south and east of the Koradum Mountains and north of the Babukar and Kotenga rivers which comprise major portions of the Ubani Canal due to the extent of their navigability. At 401,589.82 km (249,590 mi), the Negasi highlands comprise approximately a third of Negasi's total area. The region's population of nearly 17.8 million people accounts for only about 20% of the country's population, however. The ruggedness of some of the highlands, and its lower population levels, result in a lower-than-average gross domestic product per capita, at 6,849. The highlands have been losing population to Negasi's urban and coastal regions, as well as along the canal's route, over the last several decades due to economic opportunities in those areas.

Besides their biodiversity, the Negasi highlands are noted for scholarly research indicating they are the likely hominin origin point, dating back to at least -300,000 BCE.
